Tackled in the 20

We rank in the top 3 worst sides in this area through 5 rounds and last night wouldn't of changed that stat, we had like 12\. It got me thinking that our forwards really aren't getting it done, not even close really. then I look at our struture and these stupid cross plays we do 3-4 times a set coming out of our own half, wasting time instead of bashing it forward, so it got me thinking is it really our forwards or is it the game plan, structure and execution.

I think a change is needed we are running one out. I saw Keith last night running the ball near the end of the game and there was no one within 10 meters of him. No one is pushin up 2,3 wide with our forwards giving them options putting the defense in 2 minds and on the back foot. We need to play more direct and with that come meters and with that comes support play and players running 2-3 deep.

This small change could make all the difference to our season imo

There's not enough go forward or possession falling the Tigers way for them to place a lot of pressure on sides, or play good field position. Woods is going forward consistently, but no Tigers forward is averaging more than 100 metres in attack so far this season. Woods is very close to it, but he's by himself.

The forward pack really need to roll their sleeves up, but they also need a greater than 50% share of the ball which they're not getting to date.

I agree. There is no one pushing up in support either. I saw one offload lastnight that created a second phase passage and we threw it wide and made a break. Teams we play against are doing that 2 or 3 times in a set. Why arnt we?

Are we not wrapping up the ball in time. Are our forwards told not to offload and hold on to it? Or are we aetting up the next play already when someones going forward and pushes through the line.

It often seems to me that our small backline players are taking the first 2-3 tackles when returning the ball. Our forwards are not getting back quick enough to do the muscle work.

we're not there because we have the worst kicking game in the comp. Robbie's kicks are like a 32 handicapper trying to hit a 1 iron and benji's aren;t much better.

The main reason we get no go forward is our Tactics as OP said. We go 3 passes wide just to take a hitup. Players are more worried about catching the ball than going forward and the defensive line is already up. Woods, Ellis, Blair, BMM are all good runners of the football but they dont get room to run. Did anyone see Blairs last two hitups last night? He just went straight into first receiver and charged himself and he made 10-15m in both of them. This is compared to the garbage pass it to 3 guys first catch it and theres a guy 3m in front of you. Just give it to them and let them charge. The other advantage of this is when one guy gets a good hitup, it makes it easier for the next guy (Heighno has made a living on this). And before you know it youve gone 3 tackles for 30+ metres and then you can go wide as the defence is running back and not straight in your face.

Other reasons as mentioned are the fact that Ryan and co waste a lot of tackles, and of course our kicking game.

We tackled our rings off in the back end of the second half, no wonder there was no one near keefy

Usually because the forwards have just been doing all the defence….its a standard theme for all teams.

I think this has been the telling factor in all our games. We just can't seem to get inside the 20 enough. Our lack of penalties in our first 5 games (last night was good) hasn't helped either. However, our little time inside the 20 we score most of the time. E.g. last night when were inside the Broncos 20 for the first time in the second half we scored… and then the second time we scored again!
