Takeover rumour

Someone rang me last night with a story of Wests juniors to be playing under the Wests Tigers banner from next year.

And Wests Magpies maybe becoming a feeder club for St George Illawarra.

Anyone know what’s going on?

There is a meeting of Wests Magpies members in two weeks, obviously this is on the agenda.

WT put money into aspects of the Wests Juniors program. Just like they do with other nursery's around the country. But I cant see how or why they could be taken over. It all seems to be running ok there at the moment.

Was under the impression that this was already happening. Why is it been brought up now?

Wests Campbelltown seem to only want to deal with the Wests Tigers and have funded the junior league for a while now.

I also remember seeing a 2011 pic of a junior rep team wearing a jersey with a orange V with a white/black top/bottom background. With the Wests Tigers logo and Wests Campbelltown as the sponsor.

That may have been a WT development squad photo STAKS. Wests Junior Magpies U/13, U/14 & U15's wear the black and white and are sponsored by Wests Ashfield.

Wests SG Ball etc has players that are paid for by WT.

I've heard similar…In particular, that the junior reps will be organised (and funded) by the Wests Tigers.

Not sure about NSW Cup though.

Balmain Ryde didnt play a Wests Magpies team this year, only this team afaik..

That game I have noted as Balmain Tigers v Wests.. I don't know the story as I'm only a bit involved at the 13/14/15s levels.
As I understand are were two Under 17 squads that I know of, a Balmain Development 17s and a Wests Development - the Wests team took the both of both Balmain and Wests, while the Balmain development took what good was left from the Balmain district.
At some stage the Wests development team rolls into "Cubs" and Wests Tigers development.

Cheers mate, yeh Ive asked around a few ppl too. young blokes club coach was asst to Baysarri in the 15's, everyone I know in that squad arent too clued up on the Wests side of things.
