Tallyn Da Silva #270

Wasn't this the way we were going to get out of the mess we are in......juniors.

Or was it all BS.

We'll just keep paying overs for players, mostly average.

What's the saying from Einstein, 'Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results'
The way we get out of this mess is to develop a strategic plan and stick to it. Richo and Benji have a plan, they’re sticking to it and not letting anybody derail it. Not the board, not sponsors, not the media, not player agents, not the players, not fans or supporters. Richo has blueprints for success, he knows what works, setbacks along the way are to be expected but aren’t a sign of failure. Not yet anyway.

Richo talks a big game. He walked in here proclaiming our juniors, now we are letting another one (who is contracted for another season) go. I just don't understand why we would release him?

All I've heard for years and years and years is that this player is coming through, that player is coming through. What's the point of development if they just leave? And not only leave, but we release them?

One thing I love about the game is the different cultures coming together and we judge players on merit.

It’s a good way to teach kids the ways of the world.

The reality.

Not the rubbish the racists spin.

Your bogan mentality is embarrassing. What does it have to do with race? Galvin being a narcissist is not racial
Polynesian isn’t a race you uneducated cretin.
The claim was senior players approached Benji to annex Galvin for Latu before the season started.
There has been an obvious push to change the culture. If this claim is true we could be seeing another boys club forming. That is my concern, not where they’re from.

Gonna happen when half the side are brothers.

I didn't think so.
You did?

Looks tired eh.
Growing the beard like the good old days.

TDS will be a massive loss. Imo.
He will be a great player much like Galvin.
But we've seen this time and time again.

We move on.
Time to look to continue strengthening the 17 and the depth along with it.
I thought he seemed really composed and confident..

They clearly thought he'd be the better fit. Do you honestly think galvin played a 'team-first' style? He played a 'me first' style which was kicking on 2nd tackle grubbers into the in-goal and hero plays when the game didn't need it

He did that stuff this year.
Apparently this discussion preceded it.

Yes, that’s what my earlier grand final joke was about.

Richo said that at every club he’d won a grand final for, there were always bulk juniors reaching the top.

Welcome to Wests Tigers Richo.

The closest junior we’ll ever have playing in a grand final is 3 generations away. Born in our player catchment by emergency caesarean after his parents missed their bus to Bankstown.

Well I suppose that's fair enough. Imo I was always of the thinking galvin is better at lock in our system with latu at halfback or organising
I said that many times last year and even early this year.
The amount of abuse I copped for it would spin your head.
“Latu isn’t a 7, Luai Iwas bought t play 7 and lead our recovery blah blah blah
Latu isn’t as good as Galvin he should be the one in the forwards blah blah blah”
As soon as Galvin rejected our contract, the narrative flipped overnight.

And the bot drones on.

Obviously there’s another wtf in cyber space. A hybrid Tucker out there. Half human/half Benji.

Maybe there’s a dark web wtf out there?

Yeah fair enough but should of the plan been, that TDS be the number one hooker in 2027?

Would have been the perfect option. Get to make the eight next year then follow up with a potential high quality player for the next ten years. Seems obvious.

Or were they hesitant because Api might not have liked it?

A strategic plan contains high level aims and objectives for establishing and maintaining a successful organisation. Recruitment and retention practices would usually be part of this and there would be a set of criteria for the types of players that are needed and requirements for how contract negotiations are handled. Decisions regarding specific players would be part of roster management which is separate but aligned to the strategic plan. I’ve no doubt the club see TDS as our future 9 and the position would be his if he wanted it, but it seems the contract term/s TDS wants conflict with the strategic plan and are non negotiable for the club. I hope TDS changes his mind but sometimes it’s just not meant to be.

No it didn’t …. People had no idea . You weren’t the only one saying this stuff so get off your high horse . You jump around and spin to create tension and position yourself as some paradigm of football intelligence.
The club saw it this way as well re Latu>>>> Galvin
It wasn’t “bro” culture is alienating the white guys. If it does then your a dickhead as a white guy. I spent most of my childhood playing in predominantly islander footy teams , and only once with 1 coach … not the playing group … did I feel like I was on the outside looking in .
From my experience , which I’m sure isn’t the same for everyone , islander culture in a footy team is inclusive . Sure there were plenty of times I didn’t get the joke , or I was the but of the joke , but even if I didn’t understand i never felt like it was mean spirited , and there was always a seat in the car if I—- as in me , as in my choice , wanted to include myself .
So you’re racist , redneck NQLD , uneducated nonsense, if it does have foundations with reality and they do agree with you …as in the Galvin family , well mate you’re the problem and so are they.
Because Poly boys will continue to be the future of the nrl , and the percentages much like black people in nfl will continue to go higher and higher .
