i know it might not make many feel better but apparently the final contract offered is outrageous in terms of it's salary, especially compared to what everyone else was offering. no other team wanted to go near it at all , so good for TDS. Probably not good for the Eels in the long term.

Yep. The club is never at fault for anything. Regardless of how many players want to walk out. How is that we are the only club that gets saddled with ungrateful player after ungrateful player.

Our management unfortunately is a lot less tough then they make out, the only other thing I could think is that these kids have been treated so poorly (e.g. the Galvin bullying claims) that the club has no choice or they will be taken to court etc

It's not a player swap. I don't know why they released him early but you can't expect the players you would like to get in return will want to come
Pretty sure the Roosters released Dom Young and Brandon Smith without getting anything in return from either club.

I wonder how much outrage there'd be if Penrith let go of Luke Sommerton or Trent Toelau !? 😂

Oh well, club must know something we don’t. Hopey back up 9, an egg in the basket of young Haywood who I wouldn’t know if I fell over him. Tallyn didn’t do much for me , I guess so he progresses under ryles. Wish the kid good luck.

I guess we will all have an opinion on it , or someone hears a rumour at the supermarket, service station, or worked with their fourth cousin, but I think we expect so much from juniors because we have been in the cellar so long .

Only played until u19s, 30 years retired, but from what I can see in first grade, there is no cohesion in attack of defence, communication is non existent, no repetition works - how benji and crew see different with 1000+ games in the coaching box, is beyond me .

What sort of team could we make out of this lot ?
Of course further back we lost a few more who are regarded as pretty good footballers

Seems players come ,gradually become disillusioned ,leave ,then become revitalised and happy chappies
The fact that we've become perennial cellar dwellers means
Our Recruitment and Retention is dreadful and is not getting better
What I've noticed is how prominent Richo was a few months ago and how invisible he's become lately
What are the odds on a 4th or is it 5th consecutive spoon
Sorry I've lost count !
Maybe Richo is disillusioned and so is Benji and SO AM I

They've got;

Dean Hawkins - talked up as an Adam Reynolds clone but hasn't exactly really impressed. Basic half that can do an OK job.

Joash Papalii - saw a bit of him coming through at the Dogs, as a fullback. Saw him playing some 9 the other day. Decent prospect but still very raw.

Ronald Volkman - like this guy, came on the scene strong and then fell off. Reminds me of a Mason Lino type player, likely will just be a back up player where ever he is. Injury filled past.

I don't particular rate them any as that amazing.
They should've prioritised this area.

I doubt they'll have money to afford AD.
Unless he's keen to just extend his NRL career and willing to take a very low contract.
