Tallyn Da Silva #270

The difference is Penrith didn’t hype these guys up to be the saviours of the club like we have. Last year Richo said the team would be built around Lachlan Galvin, Tallyn da Silva & Heamasi Makasini and in the space of a couple of months we’ve seen two of those guys leave for nothing.
Facts.

Those expecting a player swap is ridiculous in the current NRL / RLPA setup. It won’t happen.

What is annoying me right now is that it’s clear as day Richo/Benji have given up on this season.

We have no hooker options outside of Api for the rest of the season. Hope & Murray aren’t even close to NRL quality at hooker. Yet they let our only hooker go whilst we missing Api, Bula and Luai. No wonder Richo said Benji will be coach next year.

Richo has mentioned numerous times about development and making our squad better yet here we are letting another player go with rosters spots and a bucket load of cash still available for this & next season.

For a club in a crocodile roll we sure know how to keep rolling in the wrong direction.

The problem i have is that the club themselves sought out a swap deal with the Knights to get KPP here early which opened up the door for TDS to ultimately leave for nothing …soon as the original proposal with the Knights fell over that should have been the end of the story for letting him go early this season…

Also… we have been here a few times now with months left of the season but no apparent interest from the Management about winning games

Winning is not a priority at this club. We are just a feeder club for other teams when they need reinforcements.

We are without Luai, Mason, Api, Bula, Olam, Bateman, Galvin, Klemmer, TDS from this years top 30 for next week but you can bet your bottom dollar we are not interested in replacing any of them this year.
We have injected talent across the NRL for years, not just players but coaches too.

He's contracted until Nov 2026. He should have been kept until the end of this season at the very least.

The decision to release him now is a dumb one. The negotiations should've been only with Newcastle, and KPP arriving early. If that couldn't be arranged, then he stayed.

Depth in the spine was already a concern this weekend. It's worse now.
Unfortunately he thinks he’s a first grader now (wrongly imho). We have a set of standards and I’m happy for some short term pain if it means we get rid of guys who aren’t in for the scrap.

The bigger issue is that KPP even if he did arrive this season doesn’t make the step change our roster spots and cash could cover let alone need.

We hit June 30 tomorrow and we have spaces, our roster is worse than we started with this season depth wise and we still don’t have the 3-4 roster spots externally filled ready for next season.

I’ve nearly lost faith in Richo & Benji. They just don’t seem to be ahead of things and are playing catchup, luck and hope game.

I'm in the same boat. This has gone pear shaped very quickly and all of these decisions have been in Richo and Benjis control.

I'm also not convinced the players love Benji as much as what has put in the media.

Last night he saved the game for the Dragons in using his speed to run down one of the Eels in a great covering tackle. He and Suli had great games, as did the young prop who came on.
@stephen
Paws just half reminded me, there was a game early in and Lids did a length of the field chase down off an interception that was impressive. He was pretty quick, but injuries can slow you up.

Crazy, very disappointing.

We are going backwards, lose two players with enormous potential and sign KPP (Who seems to hits and run as hard as my nana) and a guy who hasn't played for ages.

FMD

PS. Who thinks we'll keep Hayward anyway, he'll probably leave.
He will and people will pretend they never rated him anyway.
