Tallyn Da Silva #270

I think it’s as simple as TDS wants to play NRL now. His manager obviously wants him to sign a new contract now. Richo and Benji don’t want to choose him over Api and must believe they have a good succession plan in place.
Richo has repeatedly said he only wants players that want to be here and TDS has been a loyal junior until now. So letting him go is probably the best thing for all parties and I’m sure there’s something in it for us - Richo is pretty shrewd I think. Lets see what plays out.
Tartak is TDS manager, he is also manager to the 3xFainu’s….Tartak owes WT a favour for the way Richo has let TDS go early…join the dots

Even in the hand picked context you’ve put forward, he’s still worse than Des ever was.

30% wins is not a better performance than 54%

I think Des would bring a lot of experience and competitiveness to our game. Things would start to click.
With respect TSP I say no.
If Benji's % of wins haven't greatly improved by the end of this year [and they won't, due to injuries], the only way we can get out of the 💩 we are in is to get a master coach from somewhere asap.

I’ll eat my left sand shoe if Haywood ever reaches the heights Tallyn Da Silva is destined to attain.

I see this as yet another Tedesco moment in our club’s faltering retention history
With respect B2T, TDS said openly he didn't want to wait behind Api to play 1st grade.
He could have instead said 'this is a shit club, and I don't want to play here.
If we were something like the Storm and the sitch with Harry Grant waiting behind Cameron Smith, he would probably have stayed.

cast your vote ,Wayne or Bellamy. Rooster boy might be swayed since he played a few games for us.But sure he stated 10 years ago the club was a circus. Why is it with this club that people seem to not be here ,but most worrying of all , is those that haven't yet / and have left basically trash the place on the way out,

totally dumbfounded how the club couldn't convince TDS to stay .After tds n galvin saying how much they want to be here to help/be part of the club succeed ,its just all bs

I’m still amazed that tallyn was due to be on close to $500k next year.

Any increase in contract or term, would need to be above this amount and reflective of possible trajectory as well.

We now have a war chest again, let’s see what comes from it.
As usual we will pay overs for players that do not want to come in the first place and deliver very little. They cant resist the $$$. And The beat goes on.

The bigger issue is that KPP even if he did arrive this season doesn’t make the step change our roster spots and cash could cover let alone need.

We hit June 30 tomorrow and we have spaces, our roster is worse than we started with this season depth wise and we still don’t have the 3-4 roster spots externally filled ready for next season.

I’ve nearly lost faith in Richo & Benji. They just don’t seem to be ahead of things and are playing catchup, luck and hope game.
Both clueless. The blind leading the blind.

The rumour doing the rounds is that Kikau will be pushed out he is on big money and 2 or 3 of there young forwards all have been asking for up grades

Preston is reported on $375K and wants more

Kikau Apparently has been offered to the Tigers and will have to pay full $$$ for him
If true, just sign him yesterday.

Richardson has overseen one of the best recruitment drives in WTs' history. We don't know what players will join for next season in addition to KPP and May. Da Silva had the opportunity to stay and compete for the no 1 hooking role against Koroisau, but chose to join the Eels. If he doesn't want to be at our club, best to move him on.
Stunning recruitment. KPP & TBC

Remember Richo always says don't believe it until the club sends members an email. I am sure there will be some sort of transfer fee to cover the next 18 months payable to the club when all parties sit down to finalise tomorrow.

Richo probably told Tartak (TDS' manager) that we would be happy to release immediately if the new club pays us X amount (probably similar to Galvins so maybe around the $150K) & Parra would have been aware in negotations with Tartak.
Those payments do not go towards the cap or allow you to recruit better. They are simply an improvement in the HBG bottom line.

Bennett wants Katoa because he is on 5 losses in a row with an aging roster camped at the bottom of the table and he knows to win you need quality.
We sack coaches on the back of weak rosters and all players know it.
