Tallyn Da Silva #270

I don’t begrudge anyone for making a decision that would see them gain better conditions be it money or opportunity as careers are short. When we have contracts as in this case for 25 and 26 why do we not have him honour it especially when we have numerous spots to fill. Happy to see agreement to part ways next year but am sick of the club giving up each year and spinning the narrative to next season. We were awaiting the June 30 deadline to see who could fill this years spots yet we are negative against the squad numbers rather than excited for new recruits giving us hope of improving.

I have three full season memberships and don’t care if we gained financial benefit from moving players on, I want success on the field and if we haven’t signed anyone then I question whether i renew my memberships and just support them in spirit not financially. I cannot say I won’t support the club as its indoctrinated in my DNA but it does seem that success on the field takes second place to the clubs finances.

Right now the full strength best 17s of both clubs we have better backs but they beat us in the forwards

We can go another year of Pole and May being the only competent forwards.

I said it before the season start, I'm not convinced TDS is NRL standard. He's shown flashes of okayness when coming off the bench but mostly, he's a weak defender, gives away too many penalties and throws a lot of poor passes from DH. I know he's only young but he hasn't shown anything to be suggest he's the Messiah.

That's not the point, he's highly rated amongst people who know the game.

So because of this, the more prudent thing to do is to keep him, even though he may not become the superstar people claim he could be.

I’m still amazed that tallyn was due to be on close to $500k next year.

Any increase in contract or term, would need to be above this amount and reflective of possible trajectory as well.

We now have a war chest again, let’s see what comes from it.
Was this the main reason Phil? I recall back in the threa it was you that was told a bit about why it had accelerated so quickly.
