Tallyn Da Silva #270

Yep. Well at least we have "done right by Tallan and his family". That will be a lot of solace when Api breaks down next year because Benji is pushing him 80 mins a week and we are running Hope and Murray at hooker.
What a great club we are? Welfare of players family is important. don't worry about getting success by winning games. As i said earlier, we are a soft touch and everyone knows it.
Great precedent set for any other players who decide they want to leave. Especially by continuing to getting the spoons.

The reality is also that Richo tried to do that, did he not? He couldn't overcome a handshake deal done last year for Galvin to go to the dogs... TDS situation is different again... Things changed that were no fault of Richos.
His job is to retain our best prospects. It’s why he’s paid. Losing them is a failure. Keeping kids at that age should be slam dunk. Red flags when 19 year olds want out.

I hope Api's extension is a two year extension at most. That'll be 26/27/28/29. Is that right?

Four more years, it would be awesome if he can see it through because if he decides to pull up stumps before that, well...............

And remember, older guys get injured more easily, still not sold on the decsion.

The club is more concerned with looking like the sporting equivalent of the Brady Bunch than winning games.

They appear to be only Richo's fault with handshakes and promises to family all outside of contracts.
Enfortce contracts and see what happens. bad precedents have been set.

Surely we are not considering more than 2 years at his age and the wear and tear he has had to body and head.

I am also a Balmain tragic from the the early sixties. However I thought with the merger and early title in 2005, we would not have 15 years of not making top 8 and who knows how long this will continue.
I still watch every game to my own detriment , with the hope every week are are going to win. despite the occasional win, we continue to go nowhere with mismangement by the club. we do not enforce contracts and cave in everytime someone makes a noise. I thought this would be different with Richo, but he just talks a good game to this point.
Only thing that counts are wins on the field. the rest is just fodder.
Mate we all want more wins as well as a better roster, it may not look like it at the moment with the crap that's gone down lately but is there a better man for the job than Richo with his experience.

He looks to be put down for a count at the moment, but do you doubt that he won't get back up swinging, he seems determined to turn this club around to me.

Latu is better than Galvin and TDS combined. As far as I am aware he is going nowhere.

Gone are the days that clubs build their NRL team around juniors... Most sporting clubs whilst they like to retain the quality, are more than happy to window shop other clubs to find the right player based on their needs. Look at the EPL, NFL and the NBA.. get with the times eh... Look at the demographic of this forum, how many ppl are actually from the areas? Same applies to the team.

I'll also note Katoa went to the dolphins, Iongi went to parra, blaze went to Penrith... Do you see their fans crying as much as some on here? Its business

The proof will be in the pudding! I'm concerned with the deals he make with parents outside of existing agreement. Why have a written agreement at all?

Assuming that it would be until October 2028, and I am definitely not sold on a hooker that somewhat relies on speed who will be 36yo a month later.

Except champion @Harvey, TDS was not part of the spine Richo was referring to (Api, Galvin, Jarome and Bula).

What is going on behind the scenes, re player roster is not known outside the tent.
The Galvin and TDS team defections were not on the horizon months back - so revised thinking has to happen.

Just as an aside, what about Coach Bennett and the Bunnies.
Lost 5 in a row too.
Teams just have to man up.
That is my point. That spine has us 2 points off last.
Either
One thing we know about Richardson, Galvin being a good example, is that he will move when the timing is correct (for the club long term). We don't know what has happened other than Da Silva is not prepared to compete with Koroisau for a starting role. Perhaps Richardson viewed this as the best time to move Da Silva on when other clubs are interested. His manager has a few clients at our club and we appear to have a very good relationship with him.
What is correct about the timing? Making room for the 3 players he is signing before the June 30 cut off?

Stripping the roster bare to ensure a fourth spoon.

In 3 years he is going to look like a genius, or will leave members remembering Pascoe fondly.

I am waiting for the nuclear fallout when Luai exercises his option. Then again he doesn’t look like he is worth the $1.4m per year he is being paid.
