Tallyn Da Silva

Heard a lot about this kid. First time seeing him in action.

That's Jersey Flegg right? So he still needs to go through reserve grade before he can debut in FG. Will be different when he plays against seasoned men and will need some time, maybe years, to get his body right. Remember we stuffed Liddle by playing him too soon before his body was ready.

However, it is good to see that he's made his way into Flegg. Only a matter of time before he progresses further.

Maybe a short stint debut off the bench late this season to help him develop into the first grade squad mid to late next season ?

Maybe we need to see how Api plays 7.

Could our solutions be within ?

I wouldn't be using him for 2023 in the NRL. Tallyn is an absolute talent, but another NRL pre season will do him wonders to physically handle opposition forwards going at you in the middle. This year I would be looking at getting him as much game time in Flegg and then some NSW Cup. 2024 debut on the cards at some point if he keeps tracking well. Definitely our future 9!

Despite our lack of halves, I don't see moving Api from 9 as the option. Hoping there are wheels in motion behind the scenes to find an up and coming 7 stuck behind quality (like a Sanders from Parra or Humphreys from Manly)

Api looked so good on Sunday. He should be picked for NSW. Hoping Freddy isn't an idiot again like last year when he didn't pick Josh Addo-Carr just because he was playing for a poor team.

Yep, wouldn’t be destroying the kid early when he’s probably a bit small.

A good aim for him this year is to make the NSW Cup side.

Sometime towards the back end of 2024, I think he’ll debut in the NRL.

This kid looks to be one of the best prospects we’ve had in a while.

Whats his b/ground, school, jnr club etc?
Just turned 18.

Wests junior from East Campbelltown Eagles.

Went to Westfields Sports High School.

Played in the Magpies Harold Matts team that won the comp last year and had his first year of SG Ball this year.

Made his Jersey Flegg debut over the weekend, which is where the above try video is from.
