I can't wait for this guy to play for the Tigers this year… I genuinely think he can be the x-factor in the forwards which the Tigers are slightly lacking. After hearing how much he has bulked up and how big he already was I think he would be a perfect explosive bench player... similar to how the Eels use Fui Fui Moi Moi - big 20 to 25 minute bursts in the game.

Thoughts? And does anybody know how long away he is to coming back?

PS - I've been reading these forums for a while but thought I'd finally contribute

Good point,I'd forgotten about him.

Seems to me that every really heavy hitting pack has that 120 keg wrecking ball type that comes on ala Rose,Moi Moi t and gets the side some momentum after the inital oomph.

I know he is contacted with BRET and he hasnt played for them yet,but I hear 😱pen_mouth: that he is back very soon.

Love to see him on the bench in firsts to beefit up.

Potentially he will be a good addition but I'd really want to see how he comes back. He's had very little football lately. Wait and see I guess…

With the lack of football he's played over the last couple of years, he's going to need a couple of months in State Cup to get some match fitness up. There's no doubt he's a massively powerful unit but a lot is going to depend on how his knees hold up when he makes his return. I really hope he is a comeback success story because he would be great to have coming off the bench if he regains fitness and form.

Anyone have any updates on Tame and how his knee is? With the Tigers looking a bit light in the forwards at the moment, it would be good to see this massive unit back on the field and running over the top of people.

Word has it he will be playing State Cup in 2 weeks time. He has been running at all training sessions and is over the knee injury - focus now on getting fitness back. I am sure Folkes would have him hurling a few times over the next month - no doubt it will be tough.

2 weeks time we will see how he goes.

Cheers for the update, that's good to hear. It would be great to see him pushing for spot on the bench by the halfway mark of the season. He could add some real impact if his comeback is successful.

I know I'm dreaming and Tupou will play in the forwards but imagine a back three of 1\. Tuqiri 2\. Tuiaki 5\. Tupou

Would be unbelievable.

Imagine one after the other them taking it out of dummy half when we're camped on our own line, giving the forwards a breather.

reading this made me think of sheens' dream team selection:

1\. Winger
2\. Prop
3\. Fullback
4\. Winger
5\. Second Rower

6\. Centre
7\. Five Eighth

8\. Second Rower
9\. Hooker
10\. Second Rower
11\. Second Rower
12\. Centre
13\. Prop

14\. Winger
15\. Winger
16\. Fullback
17\. Second Rower

How good would that be….opponents would also be thinking oh crap every time they kicked the ball.

Just a small bit on Tame Tupou in this week's RLW. Apparently he's pretty close to returning and Sheens is quoted as saying "He could be quite handy for us, he has plenty of size and pace". Going off team selections at the moment, I'd take that quote with a grain of salt, however it will be very good to see the big fella back on the field soon. He could come in handy in the second half of the season if his knee holds up and he regains some form.

Would love to see the unit fit and firing in the same team as Tuiaki. Maybe at some stage this year or next we will.

Even tho sheens has earmarked him for the front row, I hope to god he takes Fitzhenry's spot on the wing. Our flanks would be devastating.

No matter where he is. Hopefully we get to see the big unit soon. The RLW article sounded positive.
