Why do we even want him.

Apparently our current pack need to be mothered and have there hands held

The millenial footballer

I’m sure players back in the day never had to learn off experienced players to better themselves at the game ?

They did learn off experienced players, they didn't have to hold hands though

Too much negativity here , probs cos we have been burned plenty in the past .i think he will be here and he will be an asset

I don't get it. He's signing for reportedly $350k per season however some people are acting like he's signing on for $800k per season. Then you have others who wouldn't take him on minimum.
To get Tamou & JAC for the same price as Latrell (possibly with some leftover change) shows we are making better recruitment choices.

How does that show that, we would have signed Latrell if he wanted to come here, that wasn't out decision.
Last year we were prepared to pay LM overs, this year we are tabling offers at market value

The same people are making the offers? It is more likely we have less cash to splash this offseason.

They got publicly humiliated when they couldn't sign LM for overs, do you think they will repeat the same mistake twice? Gone are the days of paying overs, Madge is making sure of that.

Really? We turned around and payed overs for Joey, so I don't see any evidence of better recruitment yet.

It's debatable whether we paid overs for him, Canberra fans didn't think so at the time and Nofo is certainly having one of his better seasons outside of him.
Though Joey aside, Stefano, Blore and AJ are astute signings. None of them were paid overs.

Blore and Stefano were signed before the Latrell drama so they aren't learnt lessons since Latrell and they are still to show they are 1st grade regulars. AJ was signed as a fullback or 5/8th but best position is centr. and reports of his value in the final years of this deal could make him overpaid.

Stefano was signed in late Jan. Blore was signed in May. Both after the Latrell circus.

Tamou has never been great, but he's always been very good. A strong consistent career, the likes of which we could feed off and benefit from.

The big thing he brings is leadership. How long have the members of this forum been calling for leadership? We have young forwards in need of leadership. He is the captain of this years finals frontrunners. If he can make the paddock and have a go, we are on to a good thing.

Absolutely, and he was given the captains role because they were going terribly from memory. Ever since, different story.

Sorry I didn't realise that, man this year is dragging, that feels so long ago. They still haven't shown enough to say they are good signings.

All good, it's felt like two seasonswith the covid stoppage.

I thinks with a solid pre season Joey will justify his pay and Stefano and Blore getting fit are sure to add plenty of starch to the forwards. Tamou may be older but agree with many that he is great value if paid the money muted along with leadership of the pack which sadly Packer has not lived up to.
Like with every signing we have a risk, however with a hard edge prop and badly needed pace in JAC, I hold out promise that 2021 will be a year to remember. I know I have said that in my head over and over the last few years but surely it has to come true eventually.

He would obviously prefer to stay at the panthers (who wouldn't at the moment), but fortunately for us he wants to stay in Sydney. Just because it works for both parties doesn't mean it is doomed to fail.

He is a professional and will perform as such for us from next year.

The whole article is basically saying to panthers fans "I would love to stay but it can't happen. I'm heading to the tigers but,as captain, I do not want to distract the team and want to focus on this year"

Doesn’t sound like he really wants to come here. Sounds like a last option only. This will be a disaster an ageing prop who doesn’t want to be here but has no choice. It’s not going to end well.

This “recruitment “ of Tamou and JAC is sounding more like the LM circus every day, how many other teams do their recruitment in public like the Tigers, there’s usually just an announcement, Tigers are on the nose among the players I’d say and this is all going to end in tears again .

Everything gets in the media before clubs announce it when it’s high profile players like JAC and Tamou. There was plenty of talk around David Fifita and Christian Welch

Ministry of Finance doesn't know about the special account known as the golf bag ...more slots to hide stuff than her hand bag
