If Marty hasn't gained an upgrade yet. We r kidding so many clubs would release players for his impact Put it this way we won't be a top. 6 team without his impact imagine him on th bench for storm. Or roosters. ??

That's all good on contract but players hold th power these days He has dominated the next gen forward pack of Australia. !! If he isn't marque money we will stay a struggle club

tupou is still on 40k from when he was picked up as a NSW Cup player at the chooks.

taupau will hopefully remain on a smaller wage until his contract is up, otherwise we'll struggle to keep him. clubs will be hounding after him

I don't understand th salary cap. But do u believe tupou has played origin and I think aus squad is still on low money ?? Put it this way. If his manager says x club wants you for double yr contract. U will have issues. Let's be pro active aggressive with top recruits

Id rather we downgrade a lot of contract money from a lot of our underperformers, going by this logic

The top clubs just move them on. Broncos bulldogs roosters. Don't hang on to underperformers. We. Usually pick them up from then But I guess they can afford to do it. Eg barba. Martin Kennedy

Not possible. He is part of out top 25 squad meaning minimum wage is 65k I think. He played NRL at the dogs before we signed him.

Id be surprised if he is on any less than 150k, he probably isn't getting as much as he deserves though. Couldn't hurt to offer a small upgrade with an extra year.

How exactly was that a next gen pack? Woodsy has a legitimate claim, Klemmer isn't even the second best prop at his club, and Cordner and Jackson have a long way to go before being considered international quality players. Marty played bloody well, but it was a weak Aussie pack for sure.

I must of got it wrong. Every commentator and the coach talked about the future kangaroos. For next 5-10 yrs !! Or maybe gallen and Luke Lewis thaiday are the future So klemmer. Cordner woods. Must not be the next gen. Hope I didn't spell anything wrong

They've got potential, sure, but at this point the only one that would have any chance of a spot in our full strength national side would be Woods, and that'd be pushing for a bench spot.
Tigers have a good young team with plenty of future stars, but the fact is we're just not ready to compete with seasoned pros. Woods, Cordner, Guerra and Klemmer may be long term internationals in the future, but they're not anywhere near ready to compete consistently.
Again, not taking anything away from Taupau, he played bloody great and rightly deserves an upgrade, just pointing out that our pack was a long way off Australian international standard.

who said the chooks signed him as a top 25 player?? the club said he was on 40k.

we might not have signed gavet or taupau as a top 25 player either, gavet was on the outer at the dogs with a few games under his belt and a patchy past, taupau was good but nothing amazing and couldnt get a good look in at the dogs either. But, i reckon taupau is probably top 25, he was obviously decent even at the dogs.
