Taumata or Lui

In the years to come i really doubt that Wests Tigers will be able to have accommodate the likes of Benji, Moltz, AJ and Lui.

In the future i see something like this:

1\. Moltzen
6\. Benji/AJ
7\. Aj/Benji

….or

1\. AJ (if someone can turn him into a fullback)
6\. Benji
7\. Moltzen

.... Personally i like the second combination, but as a realist i believe combination #1 is the most probable.

Although Lui has a year in 20s, there is going to be a point where one of the two, either Lui or AJ, are going to be signed, and the other will most probably be let go.

I know Lui has a good future and all, but when push comes to shove, in my opinion Wests Tigers should retain AJ and let Lui go from the top 25.

What are your thoughts? Lui? or AJ?

Both have proven nothing yet, I wouldn't be making any decisions on who to keep just yet, Lui still has another year in 20's FFS give him a chance to develop. As for Taumata yes he's very talented but lets see if he can get through a season without an off field issue. I also believe Mulaney will be our fullback in 2 years time, Lui may well turn out to be a lock with his robust running style, so just let it all pan out, We USUALLY make good calls in regards to retaining developing players.

i think AJ

i agree with fainty, jake mullaney should come into the equation somewhere in the next few years. moltzen is a NATURAL at halfback and would be ridiculous to move him to fullback. but, if it does happen i'm hoping AJ will fill the number 7 jersey for us

As for Lui, leave him in 20's and maybe give him a couple of first grade gigs. if no improvement, chuck him in state cup or terminate his contract

From what I've seen of them, at this stage I'd take Taumata…...but I'll reserve that decision till later. We have a lot of current, as well as up and coming talen in the backs. Some will have to go.

Rare Tiger i think it depends how far down the track your talking.
For the next three seasons you will see something similar but 2013 onwards i think the 1,6,7 will change.
By then Sheens will be gone & when he pulls the pin Marshall will follow. If Central coast bears are in the comp i'll put my house on it that Moltzen will be one of the first signed & how long can Taumata keep his nose clean.
So if we don't sign anyone i think it will look like this
1.Mulleney
6.Lui
7.Lazarus
9.Farah

Too early to call. Lui is only 18 and sure to improve with age and experience and Taumata while only 21 has missed a lot of football due to is off-field behaviour so we're yet to see how good he can be. From what I've heard Lui is in the clubs long term plans. Taumata has to prove he has turned the corner with keeping his nose clean so it's up to him to do that, then we'll see where his future lies.

If he can bring he ball back with pace, he has to be a better pick for fullback then! Moltzen in half.

Lui/Mullany should stick with another year in NYC unless there are injuries.

Lui is Only 18 ? He looks and moves like he is 28.

Mullany had one very good year in under 20's before that he was struggling to hold a position in Wests SG Ball.

Taumata is an easy target off the field …....so I don't think he will be around long term.

Lets stick with Moltzen at half until he goes back to the Central Coast.
And Tuqiri at fullback until he reaches 120kg.

Yeah AJ won both the 40m and 70m sprints, the only guy that didnt race is Benji, so AJ has to race him.

heard from a source that at training arana won the sprint trial..fastest player in the squad im assuming

Hmmmmm, faster than Bunji and Lawrence eh????

Fast is good!!!!

Would like to know what distance. If he can beat Lawrence over 50+ meters that would be very impressive.

I would be supprised if he coudnt beat Chris L these days who appears to be the size of a house. Really bulked up as cn be seen bu the photo displaying the new playing strip.

Good to see Size and Speed in abundance for 2010

That's a good effort knocking Lawrence off over 70 metres as we all know Lawrence holds his speed very well. I reckon it must have been very close though.

1\. taumata
6\. benji
7\. moltz

I agree with Willow..Sheens gets bagged for manufacturing players or playing them out of position…....

Balmain Tiger isn't Taumata being looked at for 7.......
