OFFICIAL Taylan "Tiny" May #301

That’s more than Penrith paid him pre mental breakdown.

I think that’s overs just based on his history. Hopefully there are clauses in there if we stuffs up.
S tier centres get paid $800K. He has the potential to be one of those. There aren't many around and this one fell in our laps, so it makes sense to lock him up. We've only had one genuinely great centre here in WT history (Chris Lawrence) and he was only at that standard for a couple of years. Hopefully Taylan will be the chosen one (although based on his psychosis he was already the chosen one for some other cause).

Was on $650k at Panthers, we are paying $625k, all said it's pretty fair for both parties...$500k was taking the piss, if true.
He's probably also seen what others are being paid with their recent contract upgrades... And backs himself to earn the same if not more...

Don’t agree after his history, we through him a life line. We cave and give him top dollar, Bennett would never have given him that cash. We should have signed him before giving himself time to advertise himself on the main stage. Poor management really, we should have signed him out of the darkness on lower coin with more caveats in his contract. Instead this crap!!

On one hand, you don't agree with his history..

On the other hand; you think we should have offered a long term contract before he'd proven anything on the mainstage.

At the end of the day, Taylans one of the better centres in the competition... We arent overpaying him.. I'd rather him playing happy, on decent coin, than him growing frustrated that he's on such low coin as one of the better players in the comp.

Im glad we re-signed him. He is hard to deal with in defence and is usually a reliable defender.
I would stop short of considering him “one of the better centres in the comp” or even “one of the better players in the comp”. The bloke is just starting out as both an NRL player and a centre. Only played 16 games in the past 2 years.
Hopefully he gets through this off season without showing his true colours again off field.
Additionally I hope he can get through a full season next year because he has a lot of upside.

2 premiership rings and despite the hiatus, seems to have come back playing as well if not better than ever...
Makes him one of the better centres imo
But its immaterial..see how he goes next year
More concerned about Toa tbh,but we have the kid in waiting
