Taylor Faces the Media

I know steve likes his attack stats too With Robbie 18ppg without 24ppg…Defence concede less points without...

That looks like a bad statistic for Robbie, but then you look at the teams he has played.
Started off the bench against a good Eels side with the three hooker policy. No points scored. Eels struggled to score as well.

Scored 26 points against the Sharks with him starting. We still lost. Defensive problems.
They struggled to beat the Knights. Maybe it was due to Robbie.

The next week we played Storm, notorious defensive side and scored 18\. The game was almost won.

Then it was the Raiders game. A loss like that is not due to one player.
He was there when they put 30 on the Rabbits.

Robbie went down concussed after 20 minutes against the Dogs. Without him they scored 4 points.

He was then back for the Rabbits and Panthers games where the team scored 30 and 32 points. Particularly in the Penrith game he came on and improved the attack of the side.

The weak period was when he just came back and the majority of those teams are good sides.

Without him they scored 20 or more against Warriors, Manly, Knights, Storm and Dogs. Warriors and Manly are able to concede points. They both scored a lot of points. The Knights are should be beaten. We didn't have Tedesco in that game either. Good on the team for scoring a decent amount of points against the Storm and Dogs. Still showed defensive issues.

With him they score 20 or more 5/9 times. 5/8 times without him against what can be considered easier opposition.

Defensively, without him we conceded more than 20 or more points 6/8 times, whilst only 5/9 times without him. Using statistics, does this prove we are a better defensive side with him.

Then bringing in the win loss with him in and out of the team you look at teams we played without him you could certainly make a case for it being an easier set of games.

Robbie should certainly go next year, but not dropped this year based on team performance. I do not think Taylor is the right man for the job either. Unfortunately not many cheap replacements that are any good.

Taylor's reasons for dropping Robbie are nonsense.

He has followed the coach's instructions all year, to move the ball as quickly as possible, limit his kicking game and concentrate more on running. He had a great game last start, even scored a try. He is the NSW hooker. All of these are strong reasons for NOT dropping him.

We have no available replacement anywhere near Robbie's experience and recent form.

If we have one too many playmakers, that is because the coach has not sufficiently found different roles for Moses and Brooks. They both do the same things. To make the obvious comparison - thurston is a playmaker, Morgan is a runner, they have clearly defines different roles. Brooks and Moses still don't.

This is all about the ego of the coach. It is a bad decision coming at a worse time for the team. The coach should be creating unity, not destroying it.

Good luck Robbie, hope to see you back in the NRL as ap.

Taylor might have sounded confident and well versed (he has had plenty of practice)

But I really couldnt give two stuffs.

Its all about 4pm Sunday. Actions speak louder then words

I want to see them play and how the boys have responded to this move.

2015 win 8 lose 16- 33%
2016 win 7 lose 10- 42%
not exactly a ringing endorsement of his coaching ability(apologies if my maths is wrong)

So the less games Farah plays the better our win percentage.
Thanks for the breakdown.

Lol that is your analysis of the figures on the coach

They're your stats.
Farah's winning percentage this year is worse than taylors. Another stat.

Stats can be read to suit any argument… Here's another stat, in the last 7 weeks with Robbie coming off the bench we haven't lost a game. So why drop him all together why not just continue with what's been working and play him off the bench?

Watch the video. JT makes it pretty clear why.

I've watched the video… How many points have we scored in the 2 games that Farah has started from the bench?? So his spin that Farah is stifling the attack doesn't wash with me sorry.

30 and 34\. Maybe our defence is so bad because we spend so much time on attack in training lol.It will be interesting the worst attacking team vs the 2nd worst defensive team.

Yes that's right 30 and 34, but with Farah out of the team I can't remember us scoring that many points in a game since rd 1…. JT has put his spin on this and all the Farah haters are buying it.

Lot of posters saying why not just let Robbie play this year and let him go for the 2017 season. IMO there is NO way Robbie will leave Next season if he plays out 2016\. He will just continue doing what he has always done and that is what is best for Robbie. HIS MOTTO IS ROBBIE GETS WHAT ROBBIE WANTS. REGARDLESS OF WHAT IS BEST FOR THE TEAM. I HOPE THE FANS ARE GOING TO BE VERY HAPPY WITH FARAH STILL HERE IN 2017 AND ELIJAH TAYLOR HEADING OUT THE DOOR. I APPLAUD OUR COACH WHO IS MAKING THE REALLY TOUGH DECISIONS FOR THE FUTURE OF WEST TIGERS !!!!!

I don't believe this to be true at all. If it was up to me, I would have Farah in the side BUT it's easy to watch a game and see how he refuses to pass from the ground. He wants to stand, look and decide.

So this is all about getting rid of Robbie ! At least you are honest about it.

I think it shows a lack of integrity from the coach but he has been like that since he got the role. That is his style.

I agree.

This is all about getting rid of Robbie.

Its not all about picking the best 17 thats just spin for mine.

Its classless the way it has been done but like you said its what I have come to expect from our club and Taylor. The NRL is a tough business these days and loyalty is not a 2 way street. Farah really should have seen the writing on the wall last year and demanded a move by hook or by crook. I think he tried, but nothing eventuated. to leave the club you have played ofr all your life when your on 900 K no one can blame him for staying put.

No one can convince me we are a better team with Halatau, or a Joel Edwards type back up hooker.

Robbie is in our best 17 in my opinion and didn't deserve to get dropped. He played average earlier in the season but he has been better coming off the bench.

Tay went on and on the last seven games, when Farah had played well and won in his last 2.

Its a claculated move by Taylor on 2 fronts

* we have the Dragons this week and we should beat them who ever we put on the field (so a win and he looks like a genius to the dim wits in the press)

* putting Farah in reserves surely makes him think about moving on for next year and we can get the money to re sign ET.

I can understand trying to re-sign ET but I always think that you try and act with integrity. I try to do this within my job and also in my life in general. It's hard because I have swarms of women trying to sleep with me.

JT to me seems like the opposite of me. He has no integrity or class and I bet he struggles with the ladies.

It was a football decision by Taylor to dump Farah ..no doubt..

If it is a move to force him from the Club it's pretty naive and quire humorous to think it would be Taylor's decision alone…

^^^
Geo - it's either a football decision and it appears to be a bad decision or it's a decision to push him out.

I think it can't be a football decision because Robbie has had a good season. Taylor though has consistently shown he has very little idea about playing winning footy.

Maybe it's all about Taylor and he wants us to lose. Maybe he is having a meltdown. Some people have a fear of success.
