Taylor no longer sole selector

@Eddie said:
He is one of a few selectors (who would potentially carry extra weight being the head coach)

Please understand This is very common for professional sports teams.

To Have the head coach as the sole selector is not that common.

Lol

Gallagher,

I believe Taylor is getting the team he wants.

As referenced by the recent selections

* Dropping Farah

* Returning Rankin to the side.

If you guys want to run around spending hours digging up old posts thats fine. If you want me to apportion blame to Oneill in every post as well as Taylor just let me know.

Ill call it as i see it. Ill give credit to JT when i see fit, and call him out when i think he has made a blunder. I have given Taylor credit for plenty of things this season you guys just choose not to read or quote that stuff as it doesnt suit your agenda.

What i find hilarious about You and a few of his foot soliders is you reckon i only see one side of the fence, where as you guys refuse to blame taylor for anything.

That really is some fascinating insight into Mark O'neill and how he is approaching his role. Like TigerTorch said it is not the sort of hands on approach that someone like Bennett or Bellemy would appreciate. However obviously O'Neill feels it is required here to right the ship.

I think it is good to see O'Neill is asserting some authority if he feels like selection needs a shake up. Looks like he got sick of rubbish like Milone getting picked and Buchanan and now we are rewarding PERFORMANCE. Our culture of a lack of accountability at selections has cost us for years and years in my opinion.

Looks like he has no time for the boys club of mates being picked every week. If this is the start of a cultural change I am all for it. If Taylor won't make the hard calls well done Oneill for demanding it.

You seemed to think buckets had a big input a while ago Eddie.
Now he has none?

I gave Taylor credit several times lately for saying that we are rewarding performance and no ones position is safe. I said he has changed his attitude in the way he talks and its good to see.

Go and dig up that post or do you want me to find it? I can find it for you if you like or do you want to dig that up?

Thats right it doesnt suit your agenda so you wont bother. Or didnt bother quoting me on it at the time.

You only read by posts when i bag Taylor, have you ever quoted me when I praised him?

seriously?

Well, you denied that you ever credited buckets for making good team selections.
I decided to call your bluff and you got found out.
Now you're just looking even more foolish by carrying on about it.
But please continue.

Where did i deny giving buckets credit for making good team selections?

I said i believe Taylor is getting the team he wanted.

I have given JT praise for selections this year including when the tactic of playing Farh off the bench paid off with a win against Souths.

Do i have to go back now and re edit that post to priase Oneill as well

but i still can't help but think there's an agenda to ride JT out on a rail. Especially if the decision has already been made that JT will not be here beyond 2017.
If it is, then it's obvious people are putting their agendas above the club.

Thank you for confirming your thoughts.

Bet you wish you had not dragged this up now.

You think Buckets has an agenda to drive JT out.

No wonder you are all over me like a cheap suit!!

What…what exactly are you supposed to be proving here?

Hi Guys just a few brief tidbits to help 'inform and enlighten' discussion.
Taylor now selects team in consultation with entire coaching panel and final team is vetted by Mark O'Neill. You will note the team selected is now finally beginning to resemble our strongest available 17\. For example 2 changes were made by O'Neill last weekend!
Sirro was not dropped because of spite in point of fact Paul Sironen was informed prior to his son's dropping that the coaching panel was reviewing his performance and it was likely he would be sent back to NSW Cup. His match stats were poor, though his potential remains high. Taylor does still rate him; he is not on the huge dollars many people think, he will not be forced out but is free to explore other opportunities. O'Neill on a mission to prove he will not be swayed by frienships / loyalties.
To his credit Taylor is handling these changes reasonably well - he doesn't really have a choice, his job is well and truly on the line.
Expect more offloads in coming weeks.
Cherington as previously stated is off to Penrith if Farah stays in 2017 - decision imminent.
Liddle now rated better option by coaching panel.
David Gower now a target with salary cap costings set aside to secure him for 2017-2018.
ET will be signed for 2017-2018 with money that had been set aside for Klemmer / the balance of these funds may be enough to secure Gower, but at this stage Parra are $40k above our offer.
Moses & Brooks will take up 1 year extensions / have been offered $100k less than option extension per year for 2018-19 i.e. $500k p.a. No serious offers from other clubs. Both waiting on confirmation of coaching staff for 2017 - 2019.
Taylor will definitely not be here in 2018, they would both prefer he wasn't here in 2017, but there bargaining positions has been greatly diminished by their poor form in recent weeks.
As mentioned in pre-season reports and subsequent updates JAC is something special and can still be secured for $300k for 2017-2018 - $120k / $180k. But he wants an assurance that he will be considered every week for 1st grade, not a guarantee but an assurance. Melbourne have now offered in the region of $320k for 2 years. Its a 50/50 bet because the Tigers have been slow to realise his untold potential - when he truly gets match fit for 1st grade you won't believe what he is capable of. He has made every member of our entire squad look second rate in training with his attacking prowess, but is currently pacing himself to last 80 minutes.
Just about every player in the squad is being assessed for goalkicking ability, nobody really stepping up. Moses groin problem is not as bad as reported.
Simona may not play this weekend against the roorters due to injury, giving Rankin a reprieve.
Still a cohesive tight knit unit with up to 10 players from the squad now attending regular prayer meetings. Do not believe the prophets of gloom and doom with hidden agendas this is now a club prepared to be accountable both on and off the field and all alibis for failure will be withdrawn from next year!
New board has reaffirmed top 4 kpi for next year / minimum 50% win rate remains kpi for this year.
Nothing else credible to add, just rumours, but the facts from where I sit still remain encouraging.
Don't jump at shadows; don't be afraid of the dark.
TT.

Encouraging - we have the talent to be in the top 4 right now- Cronulla are - somethings rotten - but thanks for the info - - the proof is in the pudding as they say. But don't take me my word - I'm a Nevile Nobody. And if you think Cronulla has a better team than us - then please ignore this post.

11 wins in a row and leading the competition suggests everyone should ignore your post.

Simply put, whomever decided to play ET at hooker again after the miserable failure it was the first time, with no hooker in the 17 at all, against Cameron Smith and his two props that roll through the middle, does not deserve to be a coach or an official in Rugby League.

Everyone responsible for that decision should be sacked for blatant idiocy.

I'm with you. There are some posters who run around defending Taylor as if that is their one and only goal.

An they will quote everything negative said about him.

The ironic thing is at least were capable of giving taylor Praise. Whilst they will try any tactics possible to avoid blaming him for anything.

GNR thinks there is a campaign to rail road him from inside the club, pretty extreme stuff!

You claim people have agendas.

Yet you think there is an agenda to rail road Taylor out of the club.

Its ironic.

Keep deflecting hahaah

Keep running from my comment re souths game where i gave Taylor credit alone for his selection.

Nothing to say about that one?
