Taylor should see out year

Emotion aside after today I am getting the feeling something positive is around the corner,2 new debutants certainly showed that both are NRL bound .The players do not show the tell tale signs that Taylor has lost the dressing room, the guys had a real dig today.
I was filthy last week about the lose to the Knights and wanted Taylors head but with a week to think about it and the performance of the players today I can see light at the end of the tunnel.
IMO the worse thing the club could do is sack Taylor at this stage for the hope a new coach could jag a few wins, this is an easy way out and I think at this time the club should unite for the rest of the season .Realistically could another coach that the club could afford do any better with the cattle at hand? I really think not …the team is not being lapped ..the players are having a dig and to be honest with a bit of luck the team could be entrenched in the top 8 .I have had the uncertainty this club projects ,some stability should be afforded to Taylor if he fails badly replace him for next season .

Taylor has been a dud. It's that simple. The question is should we sack him now, next year or let him see his contract out.

My personal opinion is give him this year and if we see some improvement then let him see out next year but I am being very generous.

WHy do we as a supporter group settle for mediocrity?! Taylor is not a first grade coach plain and simple, his game plan isn't good enough. His selections have been poor majority of the year, and if we want to get anywhere this year, something needs to happen.

I would only replace Taylor if the effort drops off. Its tough having lost 5 in a row, but we have not been terrible. At the moment the effort is good from a squad with injuries and with little depth.

At the end of the year you see if there is a better option. If not then give Taylor his final year. We have to be quite realistic. Today without Woods, Simona, Nofo, Sue and Teddy for 20 minutes we lost in Golden Point. Now that is a very good effort really.

Nothing to be gained by punting a coach mid season, just leaves them with even less consistency. A coach works his team through preseason, picks out the most likely looking squad at the start of march and then tries to get them across the line every week through autumn and winter.

You don't decide at the end of April that you don't like this forward pack, and you'd like to drop all but two or three and promote blokes from NSW cup. That decision needed to be made in January. Likewise a new coach isn't going to miraculously reinvent football mid year, turn the tide and make the 8\. It would more than likely make things worse while making our club a bigger farce. So we let Taylor develop our squad as best he can, and if things haven't drastically improved in September then we give someone else a go.

Seeing some new faces on the field is refreshing.

Brings some hope.

But Taylor had no choice, and will we ever see them again??

Another few losses with the likes of Buchanon being picked and we may not be so generous.

According to the commentators you could hear Bellamy's bellowing at half time even way out at the transgender toilets and they thought it was effective early second half. If that was the case does JT do the same in similar circumstances with similar results? And if not then why not?

Speaking of the transgender toilets, did Cooper Cronk take advantage of them or were they off limits as they were being used as the referees change room?

I'm fine with JT getting the tap on the shoulder, as long as his replacement is someone who we know for sure can do a better job. And atm, the only coaches who we know could get the best out of this team are coaches who have first grade experience who have taken sides to the finals multiple times. A rookie just isn't going to cut it, it's a lamb to the slaughter. Our roster need someone who is capable of changing their soft underbelly. It's foolish to punt JT just for the sake of it and get someone whose unproven who ends up making a bigger mess than JT. But then we don't have money for the kind of coach we require.

Everything to be gained and nothing to lose by punting Taylor Mid season, its a lost cause, the definition of insanity, pushing Sh*t up hill, however you want to phrase it, the guy is a muppet of the highest order and should have been shown the door last year after the cowboys game.

Taylor is just as bad as Sheens with his boys club, I thought new coach might bring about new ideas, new methods, but Taylor has been a complete waste of time and nothing will change that this year, he is gone next year so he may as well step down after round 10 which is the rumour going around that he has until round 10 to prove his worth. Well Round 7 (2-5 record) has come and gone and unless we win by cricket scores the next 3 games he is gone.

Dont forget he only had the new guys there tonight because his hands were forced through suspension and injury. The fans were screaming for it for weeks and the only change he made in the first 5 weeks was to go ahead and put in useless Milone for Simona. Why the hell hadnt he made changes 3 weeks ago after 2 losses on the trot and the boys seemingly not interested in the last 2 loses they put out, safe in the knowledge JT would never drop them.

I am not sure that any coach can improve us much. We have almost an u/23's side playing against first grade sides. To improve us we need a few top quality players. Probably a backrower and outside back and a half with a kicking game who can steer the team around.

Id start with a decent coach then a decent half back

Different people have different ways of dealing with things. Bellamy is a very good tactical coach but is also an hysterical ratbag. Taylor matched Bellamy today as a tactician but it would be out of character for him to rave and rant. Teddy did say, during the week that JT "got up them" after the loss to the Knights and imo it showed today but he would have been controlled in doing so.

100% spot on.

I agree with most people's sentiments and feel, overall, that it's not a good idea to punt a coach mid season, even a coach as flawed as Taylor. Today's performance, with all the various adversity, was a top effort and indicates that the team's spirit is still high. Our points differential is only 9 after a 2-5 start so the issues are not effort or competitiveness.
