It's silly throwing Makasini in now. The team are about to get lapped with nothing to play for and have no attacking structures.
It didn't help Luke Laulilii and there is an argument that it sent him backwards. Same with Mason.

I have an issue with Douehi at lock.
He has been one of our better players with the in ball in hand this month but his effort plays like kick pressure, line speed, kick chase etc are inconsistent at best. You need your senior player to be doing these things better. He tries the long passes, short kicks at the line etc when we have lost the game, but those plays are quite irrelevant.
Secondly, he completely changes our attack. He hasn't committed for next year so it's not like we are practicing for next year. Luai, fainu and Api need to control as much kicking and attack as possible.
Douehi is certainly talented but I'm not sure how having him at 13 helps us long term. Do we plan on having a ball playing lock long term or a ball runner, defense focussed player? I keep hearing we are building for the future, but I don't see much consistency with the type of players we choose or the style we play.

That was when we had a coach who could devise a sneaky game plan that could pull apart defences. No such luck in 2025

Just a comment re the win, let’s not forget 2 of our tries were runaways and one from a dubious pass, and we don’t get them very often. We ( Douehi) was smart enough to capitalise early but there was qUte a period in the 2nd half when we were going nowhere. Let’s just temper the euphoria with a good dose of realism.

Dogs were not going anywhere either, they didn't really have a single crack at our try line the whole second half other than the Kiraz try, even when we were down a player in the bin. can't count the charge down try. We played to the conditions....just need to learn how to play on a dry track with that same passion and commitment.
