Ok I’ve been following this game on the forum cos I can’t watch Kayo so I need a good match summary from those that actually watched the game.
I posted earlier that Benji wanted all the reserve and pathway coaches to play a similar style to first grade. I thought this game would be no structure and haphazard but from reading comments after a shaky start the young guys played a good game.

That’s an effort that every fan can be proud of. A lot of people wrote this side off but absolutely dominated a glamour club. Great sign of things to come from a lot of our Juniors. Shout out to Madden, Makasini, Kit, Brookes, Murray, Andrew’s,Heywood and Tavana. All looked like first grade material. Well done Wests Tigers

It would have been intimidating for 18/19 years roles to see Foketi , the butcher brothers , Siu Wong etc . Plus a few contentious decisions ( not ref bashing) would have messed with their confidence. Once they got field position and a bit of belief . They levelled up. Also it helps to have a prodigy wearing number 3 . Give the big kid the ball lol
This game was enough evidence for me. Haywood showed way better distribution and smarts and guile than TDS has in his career

I’ve been a big fan of Kit for a long time. That try he scored reminded me of a lot of his runs he used to make in that Harold Matts side. Maybe he is starting to mature and will be more ready for first grade. I also wouldn’t begrudge the fella if he signed a good contract with the Bears to be with his brother who I also thought was solid

Attard showed great potential, but his boy frame isn't ready for 1st grade, he would get snapped in half.
Payne Hass really messed with peoples heads re front rowers . Most don’t and can’t compete in the engine room until they’re 23/24 . Even then they only really start to understand it when they’re 26/27 . The best props in the game are normal 27/28/29/30 . Not 18 years old .

I liked the style of play. It had Benji all over it.
When Madden was floating balls into the backline it was straight out of Benjjis handbook!!
