thoughts on of Lulialia as lock ,man he showed some drive today

That kid definitely has drive, I’d love to see some more ball playing from him to sway me some more

Also, would work really well with a 6 man bench to sit him on there for a leniu type spark in the lock role. if we started twal as a lock and moved him into the props when one of the other props are due for a break and feed in kit at the 25th to 30th min

Sounds like it would be a good option

He used to ball play when he played lock as a junior. It was one of the things that drew me to him. He was tough and had a good agility to play straight and pass. That has gone feom his game the oast few year and it appears he is just a bash and barge player now

I stressed before the trial Benji should be having a look at him on the right. Pisses me off how Benji misses stuff like that

I’m sure Benji knows this, but Makasini still so young. He’s awesome but I don’t think we need to rush him in. May with a full preseason will be hard to stop and will likely push for origin.
I also like Toa - if he lucky with injuries then he’ll be a handful too.

You're right. He went to Brisbane only. I don't know why I had it in my head he had a stint at Penrith.

Edit: Penrith went after him and he chose Brisbane.

Cleary anted to sign him but it never eventuated.

True, it's just a trial but I have a dislike for easts with their bottomless salary cap and forever strong roster, getting flogged by them is as welcome as a blind mullet in a swimming pool.

I liked the style of play. It had Benji all over it.

When Madden was floating balls into the backline it was straight out of Benjjis handbook!!

If first grade throw it around like this wow we could be in for an exciting year!!!

Yeah getting the ball through the hands , holding pass up and putting the body on the line to draw players in created some nice gaps . The back line set up beautifully .non of this zig zag nobody knows what's happening sh..t..

I missed the game , but sounds like it was fairly good result , I’m happy we got off to a positive start by winning , some were saying roosters be to strong so great results, does anyone know if the game would be replayed on fox or other , would love to have seen it , but positive result and sounds like some of the guys did well , should be strong in reserve grade etc which is great

That was an impressive effort from these young guys ..

I was worried after Benji's pre game interview when he said something like he told them to go out and have fun.

We all know how that ended last time he told the team to go out and have fun and then had to apologize for it afterwards.

He's way to good to be in Cup. Walker and DCE will have to perform

I think they'll find a spot for him, he has supposedly said he wants into the 17 and is willing to play anywhere,

With his size he probably would not be out of place at lock, centre or even on an edge.

They would be crazy not to fit him in somewhere, could be very handy at 18 or 19.

Deep cut but I thought Josese Lanyon #25 was better than Mason and could do a decent cameo job in the NRL if needed. I just don't see where Mason is needed in our team.

To'a is a liability. Makasini or May could move to the right. Makasini has played alot of Rugby Union at outside centre. They change side constantly depending on where the ball is situated so I don't think it is a massive stretch for him to move

I like your point about rugby and never been sure about Toa’s attitude, seems to drift out of games. Might find his best knowing there’s a kid on his coattails

Perhaps he was putting a reality spin on it but I was more impressed we did this without our first grade numbers were those earlier results based on the potential first grade sides in those years
