TEAM LIST Team Vs Sharks [Round 9]

Team List
IMO we are 100 to 1 outsiders. Even at full strength it would be 50/50. Go into a match at Shark park without half your spine and KPP is a real ask. Of course not impossible but the Sharks will gives us nothing and grind and grind. Not being negative just looking at without my Tiger glasses on
our forwards are smashing teams, sharks defence isnpretty average and a half in hynes who generally melts under the pressure.
We grind them into the ground.
if Api, bula, kpp play we start $1.40
them out gives us the value.

I predict we start $1.70 favourites next week against melbourne in melbourne

Depends on which Sharks team turns up. They have flair in attack, but their defence has been quite brittle at times this season. I have no idea how Hope and Sukkar will go, I haven’t seen much of them play to comment.

All I know is we will miss Api more than anyone. I reckon he would’ve had a field day exploiting the Sharks shaky defence. Can only hope the new boys will step up and surprise us. I really hope the team takes a leaf out of the Broncos book and shows some defensive steel when down on troops.

With Api out, we lose our focal point of attack and Jahream adds a bit of X factor in broken play. That said, Hope is generally a good defender and just need to bring the forwards on to the ball. Cronulla were awful last week in defence and the Cows rolled up their middle pretty easily but they do have attacking weapons out wide in Nikora, Talakai and Hynes. I expect they will throw some shape at Sukkar’s edge as well.
Hard game to pick. Sharks are always tough at home but I think we sneak home by 2-4 points on the back of our defence and Tavana scoring a double with his leap.

I agree but my issue is our reserve grade team is crap again , and you look at the broncos when they call up players those guys are yards ahead of who we call up , Hope has hardly played games and will be ok for about 20 minutes , Sukar people are raving about , he has been good in Reseve grade let’s see how he goes first , I’m not sure we have the cattle after the likes of Madden , Macca , and the winger step up there is not much left in reserve grade that is first grade ready ,
I think Hope has been poorly managed, he’s been bench warning for weeks and is now thrown in for what will be a tough game. If Benji wants him on the bench as an API backup then he needs some minutes. If he falters on Sunday I think the finger should point directly at our coach !

The Tigers are sitting nicely in 3rd.

Yes other teams had key players out, however the Tigers have rarely been able to name the same squad week to week.

Brisbane's B team has shown they are all class, but the biggest factor they have is Reynolds. The Tigers SHOULD have won that game, with Reynolds being the difference.

The Tigers are currently sitting 5 spots higher than Brisbane and have a game in hand against the Broncs.

Cronulla are hot & cold the best of times, but the style our boys are playing at the moment will unnerve the Sharkies. Our big boys will run at Nicho all game, targeting him in their online defence & I'm sure Doueihi & Laui will frustrate him & force some errors.

Melbourne look shot, I don't know if they can turn it around. If the Tigers are ever going to win in Melbourne it will be next week.

Souths just pipped the Tigers in another "woulda, coulda" game that could have gone either way. I really rate Souths & our boys are right up there with them.

Cowboys are not too shabby right now. The Tigers gave them a hiding early in the season but I think our boys are a level above the Cows, especially in defence.

The unknowns?
Panthers & Roosters. You can't go by the (positive regardless) Pre Season results, but these two teams are getting huge wraps from the media. They've both have racked up some huge scores against otherwise decent opposition. Manly? look to be resurrected from the dead & now look a danger side.

So until our boys have played the Panthers, Sea Eagles & the Chooks we really won't know where our boys really sit.
I doubt any teams I haven't mentioned will be there come the business end of the season.

Tigers 26 Sharks 18 for mine with Api out.

Geez, if we can win this, that would be huge.

Sharks coming off a humilating defeat, priding themselves on a strong defence, coming back home on a Sunday arvo, near full strength and the Tigers with some key outs.

Talk about up against it.

Tigers by 8

No serioulsy, not saying it can't be done, but the Sharks should be too strong.
Given our outs I’m not surprised we’re underdogs but to me the Sharks just don’t seem all that intimidating.

They’ve got a good roster but they just don’t play tough. I think we can go out there and out muscle them and dominate their pack.

If Sukkar 2025 not Sukkar 2026 shows up we can't win.
He can't just hang around doing nothing, hoping nobody sees him.
He needs to be the player he's been in KOE for Wests to have a chance.

If Twally & May play the way they have so far this season with Royce coming on when their forwards are tiring, I'm sure our boys can out score them, make more metres. It's just a matter of defence, if Hope can defend well in the middle & give good service to his halves then the Tigers win this one comfortably.

The biggest danger?

Our boys need to kick to their wings, not down the guts as their outside backs are masters of broken play. The Tiger's slide defence, which has been good, should negate their famous sling shot move for their wingers.
