Tedesco Replacement

Moltzen will get his spot at fullback once he is fit, especially for next year..
Moltz always seems to land on his feet with this kind of stuff, if teddy goes Molts will be 2015 fullback

At present it seems as if Potters like for like replacement is an exercise in keeping consistant structure where possible… eg he is using Austin at hooker where necessary, but with Robbie on deck hooked Anasta to get Blake on.

I wouldnt be surprised if we lost Teddy to see Nofa kick off the season at FB and stay there, and have Potter gamble on a winger instead. Nof kept Teddy out of FB when they were younger, so its not a skillset unknown to him.

I dont see Moses given the rough road. With Austin on the books turning super sub for us, he could share Mitches load in the halves where necessary as we wean Moses into first grade...

We lose Teddy, I dont think we should panic into a straight sub-par replacement, but see how the process unfolds organically. Blooding a winger would serve us well for Pattys departure in at least evaluating staff already in the system.

defensively (except under the high ball), i actually rate moltzen better than teddy. but he's played 3x the amount of games teddy has anyway.

moltz' best position is 5/8 though.

What? How could you rate Moltz better than Tedesco? Moltzen's only quality is chiming in as a ball player and he has a bit of toe (that could be lost). Tedesco is a better ball player than Moltzen already, is faster, returns better, has way better defensive (not just high ball but his try saving ability is probably the best in the NRL other than Slater and Inglis) and he's better at backing up up the middle. He's just way way way way way way better.

Honestly Mayer should have given Canberra Moltzen on a subsidy just to keep Tedesco. We pay 50% of his contract for the first two years and they pull their deal from Tedesco.

If we sign Mansour ro play fullbakc ill be annoyed.
Decent ball runner, but has terrible hands and is not a choice for NRL first choice fullback.

If can secure an established fullback that would be great. (Hoffman, K Hunt or a bolter from another club that is released for some reason)

If we go non established my players of interes would be,

K Moss or Dallin Watene Zeleniak from penrith
C Gutherson from Manly
Jack Ahearn from Canberra
Valentine homes from Cronulla

and my bolter Latrell Mitchell who is only playing SG Ball, but looks a freak

Saw Latrell play on Saturday, his game was televised, he had an okay game, chimes in off offloads, pretty tall, has pace and can jump high. The opposition kicked off he caught the ball and threw a bit
of a flick pass and the player behind him dropped it on the first touch of the game.

I'd go after hunt, though as someone already said, he'd probably command more than teddy so doubt we'd get him. Jack Ahearn from Canberra would be my next choice

I think we have more than enough talent at the club to cover fullback should Tedesco go. Abou Sleiman, Rowe, Moltzen and Nofo.

I reckon we should re sign the likes of Gavet, Thompson, Ava and Simona with the spare cash and give one of the fellas I mentioned a go next year.

On this subject how is Abou Sleiman actually going in state cup, I see he did not play on the weekend, but any info on him would be good!

Josh Hoffman will want out of the Broncos having Barba and Milford on his way. This kid is an amazing fullback and I would love to have him in our number 1 if tedesco leaves. Hope the kiwi boys can get in his ear and bring him to the club

Brett Stewart

Don't care how talented that merkin is. I'd never want his wandering hands near our Fullback position.

He's just as injury prone as Tedesco, but older.

Latrell is a future star but the rooters recently re-signed him for 3yrs along with a few others from that team. Turns 17 in a few weeks & will be playing 20's as soon as he does.

It's all about Mamo dudes. Everyone is talking like Teddy is guaranteed NSW Origin fullback when he peaks and the others are gone but I reckon Mamo is going to be to Teddy what Mullins was to Brasher.

We have all seen what teddy can do. He is obviously not chasing money otherwise he would have already signed elsewhere. We should stop screwing around and give him what he wants. Future nsw and test spine will then be ours. Seems pointless looking for a replacement when we already have a gun fb.

Just saw the news. I retract my statement your Honor. All evidence points to him being money hungry.

Mamo looks more suited to wing at top level.
He plays hard but IMO doesn't have the work rate to be an NRL fullback.
That said I thought the same thing about Hayne, he certainly has turned into a class fullback

My concern with Mamo is they will need to put some muscle in those chicken legs eventually

He will lose a bit of that speed when he does

Goose I wouldn't be worried about his motor just yet , half a season would fix that pretty quickly
