Teddy also needs to think of the lost income from state of origin. 30 thousand per game. No chance at canberra in a beaten team. Plus match payments for winning. He may be behind in signing for the raiders. Then add ricky stuart the guy who has murdered players and former clubs . I cant believe tedy is so short cited. Probably explains why I can see pass only 200 thousand. The most money boys is not always tne best offer

Ricky Stuart picks the SOO team…so him being his coach at Canberra will work in his favour.
One minute you say 200 k is peanuts then you talk about lost income at 30 k
Canberra have made the semi's 8 out of the last 14 years 5 more times than the Wests Tigers

The truth is coming out…haha Happy wont be happy...but he trys hard

If you are referring to my last post , I meant the Forum members not Tedesco

He still wants to stay , The Tigers still need to find the last piece in the puzzle to sort this all out

I was referring to a post from Timmy B that seems to now have been deleted, which refutes your inference you have been inundated with requests via PM for info on this

"So called fans"

That'll do me :unamused:

All i'm saying is that Potter has said that we have put a substantial 4 year offer on the table for him. I hope he stays with us but if he goes elsewhere so be it.

The club should not be held to ransom to any player. We saw how the Benji situation ended up. Players and their managers aren't neccassarily the best judges of taking the right option for themselves.

If their is any truth in the figures being thrown around, Teddy would be mad not to seriously consider the Raiders deal, although I doubt anyone in this or any other forum would be privy to the details of the contracts being tabled.

Like with all things their is a down side and a upside if he walks, the downside we see a very talented footballer walk out the door, the upside we free up money to at least retain and maybe recruit a player or two.

I get the feeling this rather protracted process is coming to a close with the pendulum swinging the wrong way, but as I have said in the past every extra dollar we increase his deal by has to come off another contract we are offering another player. Its a ruthless buissness

People are obviously very emotional about this issue, which in essence is about a young kid deciding who he wants to work for and for how much money.

If I recall we struggled to keep him last time his contract was up, and that was long before he had made first grade. He is quality no matter where he goes, and the injuries he has had already might convince him to take the money on offer.

I will be disappointed if he leaves, as I would hate to think of him in the same elk as Glen Morrison who left for more money and was then happy to rubbish the tigers in the press. I hope Teddy is a better man than that and I would love for him to play out his career at Wests.

What does he do?, Knock back so much money that most of us would take. Loyalty only goes so far, I want him to stay & if we offer him a competitive offer he will stay. Love him as a Player & what ever he does its his life & his decision.

One question people haven't asked, and I certainly don't know the answer, but how much can we afford to pay Tedesco to stay under the salary cap? The Raiders may be able to afford $550k per season, but what if we can only afford to pay him $350k? Bit hard to lay the blame at Mayer if this is the case. Different story if we can afford to pay $500k (not saying we should though) and he walks.

Hey hey hey what are you doing?.. no place for common sense here

NQ Tiger:
If he comes on here to somehow sway some sort of personal indecision.within himself..that would be laughable. I'm sure all the players know how fickle.the fans.are…they here the comments at games to themselves. The opposition and team mates

I wouldn't know about the real figures. All I know is I back the chief on this one. Some former CEO with no conscience would offer Teddy what we don't have and then have to offload and still pay and blah, blah, you know where I'm going. It's up to the chief to spend the money wisely and be RESPONSIBLE enough to make sure it doesn't put us in some dire predicament that takes forever to get out of. Sounds familiar doesn't it.

Good point Willow. Following on from that
Are we intending to use all our salary cap and if we don't use all of it can that money be used elsewhere….say to pay out Sheens ?

Oh this thread has become painful. I log on today and it's gone up 3 pages; I think "oh maybe there is some news" but it is just full of back and forth between Tedesco-lovers and frustrated fans.

Let's just pray for it to end, Tigers or Raiders, I don't care any more.

If he does leave, I will the blame squarely with the CEO. We've let a number of players go to sign these young kids up. That would surely have been his directive from the board, and the fact we even waited until the season began before getting a deal done with him makes the CEO culpable. Good administrators get their talented kids signed up before letting the rest of the comp see how good they are.

Benji rific you ever stop and think Teddy may have resisted earlier offers?

Of course you didnt

Actually I did, and a good CEO would make an offer he couldn't resist before, rather than wait till he's killing it in the competition and pay overs for him. You're better off paying overs at the start of the year and not letting anyone get near him, than have this debacle playing out where we could lose one of your best prospects.

Yeah it really is that simple isnt it?
Of course when you have a player and his manager who both know all manner of other clubs will be interested…..just offer something he cant resist....its easy when you DONT know what other clubs may be able to throw his way

The CEO can't predict the future. If he signs for four years and does his knee in round one, we're calling for the CEO's head.

Also, if you make enough players offers that they can't resist, you end up with Penrith 2011, with a five blokes taking up most off your cap. We're already paying Sirro, Moses & Brooks overs, gambling they will develop into stars.
