The NRL should adjudicate on offers that may result in a club losing one of it's juniors because another club wants to offer him zillions. The NRL salary cap is just the biggest rort and is completely biased towards clubs with benefactors who are very proficient in under the table dealing.

They were gonna give a prop 950k they will offer Teddy 800k for sure, the next Slater a player they need they have no fullback they need him, we are screwed

I'm not having a go but what has Mayer done to make people dislike him? We haven't lost any player of note yet. He's definitely kicked marketing/membership packages up a gear…I mean we now have fan forums, evenings with coaches etc...Can't really blame him for on field performances ...yet.

The only real irk for me is the jersey recall and stock levels. Hopefully this gets sorted...I was planing on getting the anniversary one.

I agree , if he thinks his worth way more than that ? tah tah of you go . He is only 25 to 30 1st grade games into his career ? Paying massive overs will get us in trouble .
So to keep him what extemes do we go ? pay him 500,000 to 600,000 a year ? What happened if he got another injury ? look at Lawrence now useless as hell now but he is here till 2016 , I trust Mayer is paying what he thinks is a reasonable offer and at the same time keeping in mind about signing Nofo .

Why because it is happening to one of ours? If Teddy WANTS to stay he will stay. If he believes in the set up in the Tigers and if he wants to win with us, he will stay. If he doesn't think the Tigers can win & he thinks someone else can, he will leave. It comes down to culture & structure. Can't blame the kid for leaving if he leaves if someone else is willing to pay him more money.

They don't want anywhere near the figures you've quoted to stay ,but if Mayer gets drunk and decides to offer that amount …...

Only early in his career, but players like him don't come up very often, these are the guys you build a team around. You make room for blokes like him and do what it takes even if it means losing some-one like Galloway, BMM etc.
