Tedesco Thread || He's staying!

The Raiders are nuts quite frankly, I wouldn't blame Teddy for leaving on that sort of coin, but he may not enjoy his time down there, he may not get on with the coach, he may not fit in with the club culture there….......look at Blair and the flak he copped when he came to us, took a new coach to change things around.

24 first grade games, a couple of major injuries.........the Raiders are :crazy

Where is Happy now,he said for $400k Teddy would stay,we now offer $500k and still nothing, good work Mayer, keep the club viable.
When you break it down Tedesco has been injured almost his whole NRL career, debuted rd1 2012 missed all season, came back last year and got injured early and played year busted, started fit this year and got hurt again,so he has not strung any amount of games together at all.

We can give him all the ultimatum we want but if he chooses to go to the raiders- it's up to them to announce the signing.

Origin period is hardly the time to allow marquee signings. This will go on for another week at least.

Anyone reckon they may groom Moses to be fullback if Ted leaves?

Austin is too good to leave out of the side, and Moses will probably be ready for NRL next year provided he can finish this year without any long term injuries and have a proper off-season.

I'm hoping Moltzen is nowhere near the squad, or maybe in NSW Cup as our backup half.

For Teddy -
thanks for everything
On behalf of Cher and myself and some people on this forum - not all of them
This is our parting gift to you if you leave!!

No matter how hard we try
You keep pushing us aside
And we can't break through
There's no talking to you
So sad that you're leaving
Takes time to believe it
But after all is said and done
You're going to be the lonely one

[CHORUS:]
Don’t you believe in semi final football
We can feel something inside us say
We really don't think you're strong enough,
Now
Don’t you believe in all your team mates
We can feel something inside us say
We really don't think you're strong enough,
Now

What are we supposed to do
Sit around and wait for you
And we can't do that
There's no turning back
We need time to move on
We want to focus on premiership glory
'Cause we’ve had time to think it through
And maybe semi final football is not for you

I very much doubt they are offering Tedessco $800k, if they are take it and run!

Regardless the offer is no doubt large, and good on him if he gets it.

I also do not blame the club for not attempting to match.

If we even offered $500k that is a very big bet.

Key position players are hard to find, but you cant over invest in players.

I don't think its that far fetched. If its not bad enough they're a struggling team, they're located in one of the most boring cities in the country. They have to pay overs.

Canberra are desperate so will throw big coin around. They also lost Dugan and Ferguson unexpectedly so they'd have some spare cash. I don't think Milford would be on much at the moment as he only just began in the NRL and would still be on his original contract.

This $800k sounds a bit like a Fifita contract. I'll believe it when he signs it (and even then it might be a myth…..... just ask Andrew).

canberra clearly have a big war chest probably close to 1.5m or even 2m considering they offered milford a mil expectant retirement of campese and front rowers white, lahrs, tilse and letting go a string of other players who haven't performed and promoting juniors.

theyve offered ennis 500k, proctor 600k tedesco 800k and mansour (i'd assume something around 400k) plus talks of joel thompson returning there is a big change happening in canberra but i honestly dont see them winning a comp with what they have and those 5 additions if that happens. they are going through an overhaul and in order to get good players they must pay overs at the moment which is what they are doing

look it is possible, but spending 1/7 of your cap on one player is enormous.
It puts his salary up there with the very highest in the game. It is more than either Inglis or Slater and there would only be half a dozen players (at very most) that earn that sort of coin.

Tedesco as good as he is, is not in that class.

I have no doubt that he has been offered an enormous contract, but the contracts reported in the media are usually inflated to varying degrees

James Tedesco still in negotiations has not signed with Canberra according to manager and doesn't expect a decision today. @FOXSportsNews

Ultimatum is just for the benefit of tigers. Even if teddy signs the contract right now, it's up to raiders to announce it and a marquee signing like this is very unlikely to be announced during origin.

Us fans won't know anything until next week for sure.

Hopefully this is sorted soon. I think Tedesco will be back to play the Knights in a fortnight so hopefully a decision is made by then so all this innuendo can be laid to rest.

if hes not happy with 500k a season and playing with a team full of his best mates, then go to cold Canberra and get coached by a useless coach and see how u feel in 6 - 12 moths Teddy.

Just ask Benji what it was like to pass up on a decent deal, the opportunity to stick with your mates, play with the brightest crop of rookies in the league, NSW Origin players and several other internationals, to go play in a cold, wet, city.

There's plenty on here that say they're gonna be devastated if he goes, but lets remember how bloody good Potter was as a fullback. He would have to be the best teacher for our young guys in that position. I'm not concerned. Matter of fact, I think I'm kind of relieved that we're saving our cash for guys that want to be there rather than line their pockets.
