Tedesco Thread || He's staying!

I think people need to get off their high horse about what to do with Tedesco for the rest of the year.

Two valid arguments - one to play him as our best FB option, the other to drop him in favour of a new solution that can build now and into 2015.

Both valid arguments, just depends on which side of the fence you sit. Calm down with all the aggro towards people who disagree with your position.

I say drop him to state cup. We should be developing other players.

Who's to say his replacement be it Rowe or someone else doesn't leave once you develop them this season and next for instance sake. Do we keep dropping players if they sign elsewhere. Do you think the bunnies would drop Burgess because he isn't going to be there next season?
I do see your and others argument btw I just don't think its in our best interests as a club, we have this season still ahead and it is far from redundant and I think you play your best 17, Teddy is a local junior it cuts deep but he took the cash what can you do there is no more loyalty in football success breeds loyalty.

The worst thing imo about it all is Kurtis Rowe probably gets dumped back to reggies

We should all get behind him.

He copped heaps at first and while Im not sure hes the long term answer, hes shown some ticker, which is all i ask

Not afraid to put his body on the line

It depends on the circumstances. This is a bad situation where a player has shown poor form and we should do the same in return.

I wouldn't drop Burgess because he has shown some class. Tedesco has shown no class.

This is a bastard of a situation, everyone was getting right behind the team, we were all finally getting over the Sheens benji rubbish and things were looking rosy, wins were happening and the future looked good
Tedesco here for the rest of the year now will be a sour sour note in a good rebuilding year.
I wont be cheering him, I wont boo him….hes nothing now

and to top it off the more depressing thing atm is that every time we come to the forums for the next month or so we will be face smashed with half a dozen tedesco topics many pages long.

This is exactly how I feel. Couldn't of put it better myself. Very disappointed!. Well put Ink

throwing this out there… we may have dodged a bullet.. 1.9million over 3 seasons is way over considering he'll probably play 2 and a half max (i'd be suprised if he isnt injured again and out for half a season at some point).

now we can keep guys like sirro, nofo, simona, brooks at reasonable prices...

Tedesco & Tigers should have negotiated a 1 or 2 year contract at highest payment club could afford.
Following that contract if he played great & uninjured he could write his own cheque.
Time will tell if Canberra, Tedesco or Tigers have blundered. I do regret not seeing Brooks & Tedesco together beyond this season. That combination could have been anything.
Personally I don't see a bright future for Tedesco at Canberra. I doubt he will last 3 years there.
Perhaps Tedesco's manager pointed out the financial & organisational insecurity surrounding the Tigers who still have no coach appointed for next year & beyond.

The club has also shown poor form in relation to the way it conducts it's playing roster ie Fafita/Gibbs situation, I don't like that Teddy has gone but apart from him being a local junior how is it any different to other player movements ?
I have no doubts Teddy is chasing the $$$ despite what he says in his interviews that's a half assed way of appeasing fans sponsors ect but I maintain he is still our best number 1 and contracted for the remainder of the season therefore he should play.
As I said earlier I can still see the pov of others regarding playing him in reggies its a tough situation, but we have the obligation to play our best team this season where fit and like it or not he's our best number 1.

LOL…what a mistake Tedesco has made, chasing $$$...it was good to see Proctor knock the Raiders back on a $675,000 deal and stay loyal to the Storm...and i'll be a monkeys uncle if Kevin Proctor is worth that coin anyways...Canberra are absolutely desperate to sign anyone lol and Tedesco took the bait he's kidding himself if he thinks he's worth what the Raiders are gonna pay him, and at this point they have gotta be short odds on collecting the spoon this year and next which has become a habit of stickys' teams...Tedesco shoulda stayed with the Tigers and upgraded to those $$$ when he actually accomplished things in the game, like make the blues team or play for Australia...by the way, hasn't he still got time to renege on the deal like the Raiders tried to get Milford to do?

I like this post and agree that this event is a stumbling block towards rebuilding. How different might things have been if Farah, Woods, and Nofaluma had taken him for a round of golf instead of Marshall, Moltzen, and Anasta. It's the difference between sunrise and sunset. Then again, maybe it demonstrates where Tedesco's relationships are and that he doesn't really click with the team and buy into the team go forward that has developed. If that's the case, better off gone.

It's a bye week. Your mission Robbie, if you accept it, is to grab Aaron, David, Luke, and James and go for a round of golf.

Apparently, he only expected an extra 70k over the first two years of what we offered.

Mate this is a lie. Plain and simple. 70k would be 35k which over 4 years is nothing. Its a lie plain and simple and the muppet spreading those rumors on here needs to have a good look at himself.

Tedesco is just a low class individual like Ben Teo.

Yeah I feel the same, Benji made a mistake listening to his manager, Teddy has made a mistake doing the same, in fact listening to both manager and Benji.

Certainly an odd decision, guaranteed 4 years at a place where you started or 3 years elsewhere, the Raiders haven't had much luck with young talent of late as well.

Make sure you spend a fair few hours at the 19th hole and make sure you have a pen, contract and camera handy
