Tedesco v Moylan

Moylan is far weaker in tackle busts and tackle success, but he is more consistently involved in try and line break assists. So Tedesco is a better individual attacking weapon, but Moylan puts on more points for his team mates. Moylan also kicks goals and field goals.

Moylan has 10 games, 2 tries, 1110 m (av 8.47 per run, 111 per game), 5 LB, 11 offloads, 11 try assists, 12 LB assists, 22 tackle busts, 18 errors, 76% tackle efficiency.

Tedesco has 10 games, 8 tries, 1169 m (av 9.74, 117 per game), 5 LB, 5 offloads, 6 try assists, 2 LB assists, 49 tackle busts, 9 errors, 84% tackle efficiency.

On those stats alone, Teddy is a better fullback then Moylan.

Moylan only has one attribute over Teddy and that is his ball playing ability. Perhaps he is better suited to the halves

He seems very uncomfortable against defending the high ball- that's his one weakness.

Compared to moylan, teddy is a couple of years younger with less experience. As someone said earlier, reckon moylans best position is 5/8 anyway.

Plus it's very seldom gets the ball in a very good position. And there seems like ages ago that there was anything like an inside pass to him. Or anyone to put him into a hole.
Did he have a problem with high balls when he first came in, I can't remember it being a problem.

I read somewhere a couple of weeks ago that Moylan is averaging about 39 touches a game to Teddy's 20\. So that's why he's got twice the assisting stats that teddy does. Been playing half for penrith for a few weeks.

Teddy is faster, stronger, better degender, got a good play making and short kicking game himself.

I'd take Teddy over Moylan any day of the week.

neither do i, until this season.. but doubt he played 10 games in a row before either.

i think it's without a doubt that he has to improve defending under the high ball and he seems like a hard working guy so im sure he'll improve. i remember we used to to give moltzen so much crap and then one round out of nowhere he just killed it on a windy day.

Tedesco is a pure fullback at this stage of his career, whereas Moylan has the ball skills of a half and that rightly puts him in front. Whether he stays there or not, only time will tell, but I think NSW could do a lot worse than Teddy at 1, Moylan at 6 and Pearce at 7 over the next few years.

Barring injury this is where i think it is going. Penrith have too many class outside backs and it is a matter of time before Moylan heads into the halves there. He may even play there before the end of the year if either Wallace or Soward get injured or lose form. He reminds me so much of Lockyer.

I can't ever remember Moltzen killing it under the highball. May have been something like highball 30 v Moltzen 1\. He killed us plenty of times under the highball….i can remember that. Maybe the wind blew the ball into his arms?

Moylan at this stage is a far better footballer than Teddy but it has to be remembered he is a couple of years older and for the most part of his career has been in a strong team. He has all the skills, kick, catch, pass, ball play, you name it he makes it look easy.

So ask the question in two years time and things may be different, but at present I am a massive fan of Moylan, he is a Darren L clone

Its funny I agree with all this, but still think Tedesco is a better fullback…

He'll work it out.
