Tedesco

Pretty stupid rant mate to be honest.
Ted doesnt deserve what the raiders payed and I am glad the club stood their ground.

We didnt turn our back on him, the club has brought him along and through the juniors taught him to play whilst the seniors have been very patient with his extended injuries pumping lots of money into getting him back on the park.

He repayed this by running out on us and chasing the dollar. Simple as that.

Didn't turn our back on him ? We initially offered him Less than what he is on NOW if that is not a clear signal of turning your back on someone I don't know what is.

Then a brain wave of an idea.
We will tell him we need to offload players to buy some time so we can resign his mates…he wont leave his mates...I am sure he will stay for half the money he can get elsewhere once his mates get signed.

Maybe Tedesco doesn't deserve what Raiders paid but he doesn't deserve to be insulted with an offer for less than what he is on this year.

Ohh Hi Benny lets upgrade your nephews contract...400k OK ? No problems mate

Well if that's true about Moses getting $400k, that concerns me Irvine. But maybe was there something in their already agreed in a prior agreement with being promoted to playing state cup? Maybe Mayer had no control over it?

At the end of the day, I agree Ted at least deserves the same as Moses. Ted is at least a proven player.

With the 2015 shortfall, I'm assuming though that the tigers may have tried to backload it to make up for it? If so, I can't really see a big problem with that?

Signing his mates is also smart tactics…I don't begrudge Mayer for that and his mates obviously valued playing for the tigers more than ted since they signed immediately without fuss.

I think Mayer still has a lot of fixing to do with humphreys disasterous work with our cap and it's probably causing a lot of problems...

At the end of it, it sounds like the Tigers made a good offer. I hope at the end ted was grateful for their efforts. After all, he is only **one** of many talent kids in the squad that deserve to be paid well... Not to mention the chunk Robbie must take up.

Irvine, Moses and Brooks were legitimate hot property with both Broncos and Knights sniffing around, much different to when we initially tabled an offer to Tedesco who's manager was touting ficticious offers from Rooters and the Dogs and chose to hold out himself. Secondly, Moses has a KPI based contract same as Brooks, so isnt making anywhere near the ceiling of his whole possible contract, if Teddy had the same KPI's in place he would have earned jack all last year because he barely played…

Only once Teddy stalled his negotiations with no other legitimate suitors bar the hail mary that his manager may have been able to push his other client Milford to Brisbane, thus creating an opening for him at Canberra, did the Tigers actually go ahead resigning other players. Moral of the story is that Ayoub and Teddy painted us into a corner, our first priority put us on the backburner leaving us little option but to tie up other talent... we couldnt have been waiting until now for Teddy to get in a bidding war with a big enough war chest to do so, whilst leaving that many players (Siro, Simona and Nofa) on the market to also have to possibly compete for.

if what you and Happy are selling is true, and he wanted to stay he could have kept negotiations going early instead of bluffing as if he had options thinking our retention would grind to a stand-still on his whims... eventually the club had to make a call, wait on one prima donna or retain alot of talent, and he was eventually unhappy with the offer that was ultimately the dregs of the warchest... thats the thing with bluffs, once too many chips are in the pot it becomes all or nothing.

You really are digging a bigger hole for Tedesco with these comments, if he was offered less for 2015 (you said 50k less on LU) than he is getting for 2014 suggests the club have looked after him since coming into grade and were paying well above market value for a youngster on his first contract.

Sorry but it paints an even worse picture of Tedesco, the way it reads is the club has been looking after him with an above value contract for the past 3 years, including 1 year on the sideline, and he repays the club by taking the money and running at the first opportunity…

I don't know why you lot keep going on and on about this offer or that offer. We now know for a FACT that is irrelevant! He has stated himself it was not about the money!

The Captain James Cook Fountain is pretty spectacular when viewed from the right angle.

Yes you are right he bearely played if only there was some way to prove that last Year he played 3 trial games 19 NRL games 2 NSW cup games 1 City game and 3 Internationals.

So True…leading the Dally M's at the time really went against him plus those 3 man of the match performances...and that idiotic try in the nines...Yeah he was on struggle street.

Irvine, all of your comments regarding Tedesco this past week have been laughable at best. Hop off his pants and open your eyes.

I know how funny…actually listing the games he played rather than saying "he barely played last year" what a crack up

I have two questions about all this.
1) Can anyone on this forum who knows verifiable facts about Tedesco's contract negotiations including; Tedesco's standing with his team mates, Tedesco's standing with the coach, price the Tigers offered, price the Raiders offered, and the timeline of negotiations, please post them in chronological order?
2) What are the other Tigers players saying about the move?

It seems to me there are ongoing debates based on SFA factual information and, the Tigers players are being very quiet about it all.

Somehow I don't think we'll ever know how much was offered but it has been very strange no other players have said anything except Blake Austin.

Probably just as gutted as us that he's going. They all said they'd support his decision either way over the past few months though.

Time to move on now & start winning some footy games.

brooksie said he told teddy to make sure he stayed a couple of days before tedesco signed with the raiders so i doubt theres any rift in the playing group. Seems to me he weighed up his options, and money would have been a big factor, and decided he should make the most of his short playing life.

Also, Farah was talking up Sticky on NRL 360 a week or two ago so maybe he told tedesco it would be a good opportunity. But that doesn't really seem in his or our best interests.

Great to see the tigers officials have come up with another stupid decision to let another one of our great stars leave the club(how dumb are these guys, really!) can this stupidity carry on, how about we sack these guys for their stupidity. Early on in the year maybe round two or three there were FOURTEEN , YES, FOURTEEN ex tiger players playing first grade in the NRL with other clubs , what disgraceful decisions these guys make. And I am really getting jack of it. Surely with so many up and coming "unknowns" we can't be anywhere near the salary cap. Are the guys that look after the signings lining their own pockets!!!

Disgraceful,,,,,,,,,,,Disgrsceful,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Disgraceful :imp: :imp:[/

Who else has left the tigers that the club actually wanted to keep at the time???
Tedesco is the only one in my eyes

you know what Irvine, I will eat humble pie on your first quote of mine, in my haste I wrote last year instead of 2012…

your second point though has no weight what so ever... he stalled the contract soley on a hail mary regarding Milford or the possibility that he could keep up performances to raise his price, and was yet again failed by his fragile legs. He had zero other interest except Ayoub lies of Bulldogs and Roosters. His choice to stall negotiations is directly responsible for the lack of funds available when he woke up...

The more I think about it I'd give Pat Richards a run at fullback. He played there a bit for Wigan and I think he'd be a very good support player after a linebreak.

I agree with Pat Richards having a run at fullback now. Rowe brings little to the team & Koroibetes form warrants first grade selection otherwise he two could be lost to Cronulla.

Did you watch the warriors tigers game earlier in the season ? Richards is a great winger Not so good at fullback, aren't we paying Teddys contract this year?If his the best fullback we got whether his playing for us next year or not. We pick him end of story

Brilliant. I was wondering that myself. Apparently we offered him 375k according to happy for next year, that means he was earning over 400k this year since we offered him less than 2014\. This include 10 odd games he's missed this year as well.

There is no way he is worth 400k this year.

Have to say the automatic use of the $ in Ted's name is very petty, and i'm very surprised the admin have allowed it.
