I read somewhere that clubs set their own ticket costs, not sure if it's right , but that's what was said

Bobcat on the ABC NRL radio was listing all the stupid things clubs do and don't do on game day. He said they have had years to get it right and the NRL should now take the event management side of things of them and do it professionally

Titans should be relocated.

1\. They have next to no history, which will make it easier for the fans to feel ownership of them.
2\. They're possibly the least successful team in the NRL.
3\. They have awful membership and attendance numbers.
4\. They're still owned by the NRL.

If their grand final extravaganzas is taken as an indication of their professional Event Management expertise, then Please don't let them anywhere near anything else.
Over the years they've given us such successes as Billy idol , even the lights refused to work once his show started….... The famous Exploding Optus TVSet..... Meatloaf, (nothing else needs to be said about that one) ......or the night when the wrong music was put on for the poor person who stood there looking bewildered.
Their halftime show is usually either plain bad, our out of tune , or Cringeworthy.
One of the few that Got a pass mark, was Tina Turner . It was ( just just like her adds that the league used .......Simply The Best !!!

Sorry, you're probably right there, but geez there's been some bad ones,
If they are going to do These shows they need someone better to organise them. Most of the fun at the league GF is in wondering what will go wrong with the half time "entertainment"😀
Yeah, the AFL has had some clangers as well.

FTB's idea has been around for a while , and some clubs have done some tinkering with things without going anywhere near far enough. Cheaper seats, food, drinks would go along way towards filling more grounds
It certainly looks Amateurish when all you can see is empty chairs in the background.
League is agreatgamebut its often hamstrung by the way it's been can.
The Commission seems to be just an excuse to be driven around town in Limos.

Game day should be two games (reserve grade and 1st grade) entertainment in between the two games, a band or proper cheer squad that actually does more than wave Pom poms.

Crowed involvement at half time. The swans have knocked of the Boston Red Sox game day experience. Sweet Caroline, dance off, crowd kissing and so on. The swans fans get into, the Red Sox fans they go mad.

We're are the food sellers that walk around with hot dogs or popcorn, chips - gave the local kids weekend jobs.

Reasonable gate prices, reasonable food and beverage prices or let people bring their own food for gods sake, just not grog.

Don't forget the '89 Grand final where they they couldn't find the music (tape) for the 42nd St Broadway dancers. They all walked out on the field, waited awkwardly for an eternity for the music to start, it never did, they walked off again. Disclaimer - it was a loooong time ago I'm sketchy on the details…

Well, if only the NRL Commission / Management team could run a great game like Rugby League.

Just imagine wealthy big business companies getting a go at something like RL - they would fall over themselves lining up to have a crack. A product with over 100 years of history, a case full of money coming from broadcast/TV rights, passionate supporters etc.etc. It would be run properly, show a good profit, have improved facilities, maybe lower prices? (not if it were the banks) and an absolutely brilliant product.

Who do we have running this - our game? The commission is made up of John Grant, Catherine Harris, Wayne Pearce, Prof. Chris Sarra, Tony McGrath, Dr. Gary Weiss, Peter Beattie and Prof. Megan Davis.

Not sure how current this list is:

NRL Senior Management Team

Todd Greenberg – Chief Executive Officer
Andrew Abdo – Chief Commercial Officer
Nick Weeks – Chief Operating Officer
Peter Grimshaw – Head of Media & Communications
Rebekah Horne – Chief Digital & Information Officer
Eleni North - General Counsel and Company Secretary
Tony Crawford – Chief Financial Officer and Head of Club and State Services
Brian Canavan – Head of Football
David Silverton – Head of Strategy and Corporate Development
Jaymes Boland-Rudder – Head of Government and Community Relations
Rebecca Doyle – Head of People & Culture

Do all these people give you confidence that they can run the game as it should be run, spend the money the game has wisely, that they know what the supporters of the game want and how it should be implemented, how the game should be promoted, expanded as it moves into the next 100 years.

Personally I don't think so - with only three people out of nineteen (I maybe wrong here) with a Rugby League background - it seems totally top heavy with non League background leaders. It seems to me that some of the clubs (e.g. Penrith and Brisbane) are run better than the overall game.

Big changes need to be made before the NRL kills the game "Stone Dead." Just about every move seems to take the game further away from the supporters:

*Huge stadiums with small crowds (due to no atmosphere, high prices with no value for money), costs more than going to the movies, take a family and sell the family car.
*Food restrictions at the ground.
*No reserve grade.
*Game day/night, start times and draw determined by TV. E.g. Why play a game at LO on a sunny sunday and start the game at 6:30pm. and then say let's get rid of LO because only 10,300 turned up. Why play games at CO on Saturday nights - same situation.

A bloke could go on for hours about this - but I won't.

The game needs RL people and professional management to run the greatest game of all and look after it's patrons and supporters that have stuck for over 100 years - surely that is not too much to ask.

Crowd numbers are down in Sydney for many reasons

1…people are time poor, working longer hours to pay for massive mortgages. The old days of downing tools or books on a Friday arvo at 5pm and starting again Monday morning are long gone.
2...you can watch every match live on tv one way or another
3..game times are just impractical for a lot of people..Ie driving from Cambo to Homebush or Leichhardt on a Thursday night or Friday night is murder and the same can be said for us inner city folk going out to Cambo
4..the expense, most young families are under the pump big time

Iam a bit old fashion, I would not care if they did not do anything at half time, I go to watch the footy and the cost of food and beers is not a worry because I never eat or drink at the game anyway. I just think the no1 factor crowds are on the decline is people are so time poor and have to juggle what time they have available to keep everyone happy. Football comes into the entertainment market and it is a very competitive market place.

The scheduling is terrible. Most people want to go on a Sunday arvo but only 2 of the 8 games are at this time. Thursday night, 6pm and 8pm Friday are all ridiculous times.

Fletch and Hindy would do a better job than the current mob !

Can we just boycott the Terrorgraph?

It is seriously poor news. It's not even fake news. It's fake entertainment.

I get a lot of my news through Twitter, and when I see its the Telegraph, I don't even bother reading it anymore. If it's newsworthy, someone else will have the same news anyway, just without the bile.
