OFFICIAL Terrell May #296

For me he’s the one player that has really made a significant impact in changing our team. With out his signing we would still be bottom 4 I reckon.
Thanks Trent.
We should send him a WTF Thank you card.

Agreed but I think it is more than that

Bula, Turuva, Luai, AD, Api, Samuela, May

They are the heart of our club IMO

AD bleeds our colours

Love his work but every so often he bounces around looking for offloads when I wish he'd just tuck the ball under his arm and get a fast play of the ball.
Sione Fainu does it also, receives the ball and does 2 or 3 side steps easier for the defender's to tackle him no speed, like Wayne Bennett says to his forwards run straight and hard he will hurt defender's

Someone said it the other day, I honestly think he is the player that has made the biggest difference to our club.

Obviously on the field his impact is huge, but off the field you can hear that he is just his real self and it’s celebrated. The club and Benji seem to have emphasised this as a cultural pillar (sorry for corporate talk) of the entire team.

If Laui is effort and intense competition (yes another pillar- vomit at Corp term) Terrell is the physiological safety that the very best leaders achieve. Helping people be their real self.

I am so impressed with him. I truly hope is never sullied by another clubs jersey.

I don't think Terrell would have done well in Origin last year. You don't need an 80min worker in the front row. But this year's version of Terrell should definitely get a look in.
He should be miles ahead of Stefano. Terrell sometimes has ineffective runs but they seem to come once he has been on the field for a while. If he is playing 50 minutes in origin he will have way more impact.

May tops Tigers' priority list after Luai's Chiefs move

Jarome Luai’s confirmed departure to the PNG Chiefs at the end of 2027 has given Wests Tigers an immediate $1.2 million salary cap boost. Interim CEO Shaun Mielekamp said the club will ramp up talks with 11 off-contract players, with Terrell May the top priority.

Samoan international Terrell May began extension talks last year before club instability stalled negotiations.

Mielekamp praised May’s current form and his potential for representative honours, signalling that securing him is key to sustaining the Tigers’ forward strength after Luai’s departure. Retaining May would help preserve the competitive culture the club has been building in recent seasons.

Luai’s early call also gives coach Benji Marshall an 18-month runway to plan his roster strategy for 2028 and beyond, balancing internal talent with possible external recruits

The Samoan front-rower, who has yet to agree to terms beyond the end of next season, had expressed concern about the delay in resolving his future.

But interim chief executive Shaun Mielekamp said locking down May would be a high priority.

"He's playing fantastically and I really do hope that he does get a look-in for some representative opportunities," Mielekamp said.

"I think he deserves that, and we're in contact and we are talking.

"I'm sure he appreciates that we went through a crazy time in December, but we're having good conversations."

The biggest question mark for long-suffering Tigers supporters will be the status of Jahream Bula, who does not have a deal for next year.

In addition to May, his brother Taylan, winger Sunia Turuva and Heamasi Makasini are some other Tigers also free to test the open market from November 1.

So come 2028 Tyrell will he 29 and Taylan only 26..,

What’s the offer to both ? It’s a little hard to speculate now given we don’t know how much the cap is going up …

I know some will be hating on it .. but bring in Tyrone for backup money for a couple of years if it commits the other two

Not me. By all reports he can still play, so at the right price/contract I agree.

There’s no excuse for the club stalling negotiations this long. The HBG saga was in December 2025 and we’re now about to enter May 2026.

And it’s only now we’re ramping up negotiations after Luai signed with PNG?? I get the first month or two would’ve been tough after the Magtard board crapped the bed again, but we’re fast approaching nearly half a year since.

Don’t agree I reckon that’s what gives us the edge. Second faze play wins u more games. I really like Sione’s work of the bench, he is one of the best players on the bench, really makes a difference. So improved!
