Test Cricket Draft Game

Also on a serious note , to make it easier on Sabre , should we have a cricket draft game banter thread ??

Make it a sticky young Geo perhaps

And now Geo , I know you rate me a better left hand batsmen / keeper than Gilchrist and Marsh combined , but you can't put me in your draft team OK

Another suggestion

Can we make a rule you need to must pick 2 openers , 3 middle order batsmen , 1 all rounder , 1 keeper , and 4 bowlers , one of which must be a spinner so it makes it easier with the comparison and votes at the end ??

You might need to go back to the 90's I reckon , you need 121 players allowing for no more Forum players and you could get some crappy players getting picked in the end

I'd say:

- 6 bats (inc. keeper)
- 1 allrounder
- 4 bowlers (inc. 1 spinner)

No need to differentiate openers from middle order.

Start at 1990 IMO.

I'm happy to go with that format, and also to change it to 1990's onwards.
I'll give any latecomers today to join and we'll start tomorrow.

Can we stipulate another rule? If anyone picks Xaiver D'oherty or Marcus North it is instant disqualification.

what?
why?

Because it would mean you know nothing about cricket.

See Geo I told you your first two picks were garbage

Try again , and I think your other idea about having Courtney Walsh and Glen McGrath as middle order batsmen could be a mistake

Forgot to mention, as with previous draft games once it's your turn you have 24 hours to make a selection before it moves on to the next person.
