As of right now the club has not heard back from TPJ’s management nor have they returned the clubs latest attempt at communication……….appears he’s made up his mind.

thats pretty poor form if that's true.. Makes me feel better if we miss him with that attitude.
Moving onto Funicane ?? @THE_POM

Can’t see us even having a hat in the ring for Funicane, not formal offer was made, his a management wanted all deals on the table last Friday so he could make a decision this week.
Unless they entertain an offer this late he won’t be joining us.

Cheers mate... As fans this is just heartbreaking and I can only assume the powers in the club would be just as frustated. (they better be anyway) ..

Extremely frustrated, not getting a simply response from a player manager after attempts of communication is just simply rude.

Id say the Chairman of a Club publicly coming out and saying 'he isnt the right fit' is fairly rude. Then we cry about not getting a return phone call LOL

At the end of the day weve missed out on Latrell, JAC and now TPJ, on every occassion the club has blamed the player or players manager. Maybe the common denominator is something else.

Embarrassing saying he's not the right fit then come crawling back offering more money. So unprofessional and horrible business from
The club

nah mate, its all his managers fault

Lol waiting for Lee to say we withdrew our offer a second time

We like 0 in five with dogs recruitment. DWZ, Nadine, ado Carr, pangi, Burton

They kill us don't they. The thing is it can't continue. They look like they are going to be a top 4 team next year.

Who ? The bulldogs ?

They will struggle to make the 8

TPJ, Burton & JAC along with their existing team. They keep signing players. They should improve a lot.

They should but will they? How do you think the rest of the squad will feel getting the cap scraps?

I am not sure how the dogs have money to keep paying overs for every player.

They are desperate because they're a low and shite of a team. You watch how they WILL FLOP next few seasons..

If this guy is worth the 800k some of you want to pay for him, why is his club who are very short on quality so keen to get rid of him, and why has he not even got close to origin. Game 1 the blues had an apparent "back row crisis" and he wasn't mentioned.

The Broncos have great talent and more coming through the grades. It is a production line. What they lack is our halves. Put Brooks and Doueihi in their team and their outside backs would be extremely dangerous.

So why don’t we look at some of the others on that production line that won’t cost 800k a season?

Another Simpkin type player would be nice, this time make it a back rower.

Kelma Tuilagi is his name..

He’s got the potential.

It will be interesting as not only are they paying a heap of cash they are paying long deals as well so the cap is tied up for the next 3-4yrs.

They haven’t made enough moves to be a top 6 team yet they are still a center, fullback, hooker and half short let alone the rest of the forward pack/bench rotation. The bulldogs are trying hard (which wish could say about our mob most games) but they are throwing some large coin about on positions that aren’t the crucial ones.

There will be another sale shortly. I just hope we have the good sense not to buy Cotric (too slow).

FWIW, I still think the dogs will struggle.

They've got nothing of note in their 1, 7 or 9. Good luck to em

What makes this worse is it’s another signing we blabbed on about in public and we’ve now missed out on AGAIN. Seriously madge, Lee whoever, shut your bloody mouths. This club is a laughing stock as it is and now not only do we get laughed at about our results, coaching debacles and the players that we’ve let go, it’s also the players we keep telling everyone we’re keen on and then miss them. It’s bloody pathetic and I’m sick of it, do your work in the shadows and keep your mouths shut

Who has been blabbing as you put it?
Most of the talk is driven by managers trying to drive their clients price up by generating competitive tension. Good luck trying to stop that

Belmore bound: Pangai Junior chooses Bulldogs over Tigers in $2.2m coup

July 19, 2021 — 6.45pm

Canterbury’s impressive rebuild is set to receive another major boost, with Brisbane enforcer Tevita Pangai Junior set to join the Bulldogs on a three-year deal from next season.

Sources with knowledge of negotiations told the Herald on Monday night that Pangai Junior has decided to link with the Bulldogs over the Wests Tigers, having been granted a release from the final year of his deal at the club

It’s expected Pangai Junior’s management will formally notify the Bulldogs on Tuesday. The contract with the Bulldogs is believed to be worth $2.2 million over three years.

The Wests Tigers offered the same money, however Pangai Jr has elected to go with the Bulldogs after a week of mulling over the decision. It is understood the Tongan international notified Maguire of his decision on Monday night.

After removing themselves from the race a fortnight ago, the Tigers came back to the table last week with an offer worth $400,000 more than they originally discussed.

Pangai Junior’s decision to join the Bulldogs comes in the same week the club managed to land the major coup of Phil Gould as general manager of football.

Gould hasn’t wasted any time settling into his new role and spoke to Pangai Junior on Sunday as he was considering his future.

Pangai Junior’s decision to link with the Bulldogs is a huge blow for the Wests Tigers, who continue to strike out when it comes to landing a big recruit.

While Michael Maguire has copped flak for a perceived inability to bring players to the club, the Herald has been told Pangai Junior was impressed with the Wests Tigers coach.

The decision to join the Bulldogs was based around an improvement in their roster for 2022, with Pangai Junior to join Matt Burton, Josh Addo-Carr, Matt Dufty and Brent Naden at Belmore. Paul Vaughan has also been linked to the club.

The Wests Tigers have only managed to lure Super League duo Oliver Gildart and Jackson Hastings.

The Broncos were willing to release Pangai Junior immediately, however the Bulldogs are yet to decide whether he will join the club before the August 1 trade deadline.

The Bulldogs need to decide whether it is worth their while paying money for Pangai Junior in 2021 when they are next to no hope of playing finals football this year.

Meanwhile, St George Illawarra have reignited discussions with Wests Tigers utility Moses Mbye. The Herald reported earlier in the year that the Dragons had expressed interest in luring Mbye to the club mid-season, however Maguire shut it down following Mbye’s move to five-eighth.

The Dragons have once again asked the question of the Tigers in the hope of adding Mbye to their roster before August 1 but need to agree on how much each club is willing to chip in to cover his $850,000 salary.

Tell me his address. I'll drive over and deliver him to St. George now.

PLEASE GET RID OF MBYE NOW. DON'T THINK TWICE.

Unfortunately easier said than done. Other clubs aren’t stupid, they can see how poor he really is.

They did it a few years ago.

They were paying 600k for Eastwood to play reserve grade and were also paying Foran, Woods, Mbye a combined total of around 2.7 mil a season.

Say what you will about Pangai Jr, but yet again we miss a target so very publicly against one of very few clubs that are going as bad as us.

And keep saying the Bulldogs will struggle if it makes you feel better, because no team adding Burton, JAC, TPJ and potentially Vaughn isn't going to improve ten-fold.

Players, or even worse - player agents, hate us.

He's versatility is rare I wouldn't be so quick to remove him

High salary tho doesn't help

The roster build and return to the top will still come.

Its no big deal, however from the outside looking in it makes us look really poor to keep missing out on players.

That said we can most likely sign two good players for that money who will really help our roster.

Tuki will improve and cover the loss of the off loading TPJ.

Id be looking for an upgrade on Garner and a strike centre. perhaps even a fullback who is a tier up on Laurie.
