I’m telling you, TPJ might seem like an x-factor, and he no doubt can be, but the suspensions will wear thin real fast.

His presence though, when on field is the real threat... to opposition.

Madge needs to sit him down and work out strategies where he can control his aggression whilst playing his natural game and creating that second phase play we desperately lack.

I think a few of the other forwards could really benefit from a player like TPJ and hopefully they work as a strong unit with guys like Gildart, Luarie and AD following along for those offloads.

TPJ could be huge for us from transforming us from a soft pack to a feared one.

Demps : I'm not disagreeing with you but, quite a few on here are adamant that Madge can't coach.
So if that's the case how is he going to coach TPJ **and** change his aggressive attitude.

Easy.
Let Farah, Sheens and Kimmorley do it.

Farah as coach is one of the most out there suggestions I have ever heard.

Farah is a born leader with so much football intelligence.

Tell me it's a bad idea.

Bro ...didn't you have someone spotting for you today

What are u talking about haha

Weights bro ........head knock ...HIA ...don't think Robbie would make a good head coach

Not a head coach.
But an assistant coach.

If he proves himself at another club 1st

We as a club need a break from Benji and Robbie for a good 5 years ......weed out all the crap 1st and then if they are prepared to tow the line and not leak crap to the media every 5 minutes ...maybe

Robbie is at the club currently.

Yep ...and we still haven't learnt a god damn thing ...dumbest NRL club by a mile ....no other club brings back trouble makers .....losers

Robbie is a trouble maker?
Lol mate, might be time to become happy_rabbit and join your mate @alien

Robbie had Sheens sacked with the backing of Balmain Juniors .....had his conversation with Gordie in regards to Potter ...clashed with Taylor and Pascoe

Players play Demps ....don't get involved in club politics

Doesn't happen at 15 other clubs .....does it ???

Captains captain.

Ain't no one more wests tigers than Roberto Farah.

Taylor deserved to be clashed with.
Maybe Potter couldn't coach.
And Sheens needed a break.

Still, having some one with passion and pride like Farah on board isn't going to hurt.

And it's that kind of passion and inability to accept mediocrity that will make him a very successful head coach.

His personality is very suited to the job.

?

He's a winner.

Yeah ...what was the score last game ......L doesn't stand for Love

I couldnt care less who we recruit....the hard work that Madge,Hartigan and co have done with the youth pathways and trying to build a winning squad only appeals to a few fans and members that understand what it takes to be a top NRL team consistently year in year out...the rest of the people only want everything yesterday irrespective of how hard it is to achieve a top level competative team mixed with youth and seasoned nrl players....

Melb and Panthers are the bench mark, when our squad can be as capable as those two teams then we maybe a top 8 contender consistently....just remember and look how long it has taken them to be where they are with great recruitment and stable coaching and admin...

we need to have a culture change and stop the axing of coaches everytime things dont suit the punters or our recruitment of players dont turnout the way we would hope....its a big business sport, money and success rule the roost....we will eventually get there but its hard work for the next couple of seasons....

Pangai may help us or he could hinder us...its a punt if it comes off well and good,if not back to the drawing board....like most years for us...hopefully we will eventually come up with the winning formula....

You make a good point TT, if we want to be a future top team then we can start by not sacking as many people in the playing group, particularly coaches. Storm have had the same head coach for 20 years, we like to sack them every 2 years. **The one thing Storm are good at is extracting the best from each player, we need to back ourselves to be able to coach and bring in specialists where necessary.** The way I see it, everyone knows what a winning formula is, but not everyone has the ability or the desire to pay the price of success by making the appropriate decisions and sacrifices. imo Pangai would be great for our team, but don’t sign him if you doubt your ability to coach him.

Madge sure as hell aint doing that with Roberts...Really dunno why we went after him seeing as we dont play to his strengths...THAT is on Madge

Or are we playing like the QLDers? Plays getting called but nobody responding? The difference is that no players are crying after the game.
I agree that someone has to find a way into the hearts and minds of our young players? If one method fails, try another and another. It’s persistence and continuity that will win the day, and you won’t get that with constant change. In other words..don’t change the destination, find a new route.

Every time he has a problem he turns back to us for an easy pay day ...why isn't he concentrating on his business

Pretty sure he was invited back?

Are there reports that he leaked stuff to the press? That thing with Tallis was a supposedly private conversation with a supposed footy mate, who it turned out wanted to make his name as a reporter? Interesting, that Tallis dos get too many scoops anymore?

He gets invited back because the club is continually trying to win brownie points with fans

From memory he came back the week after the Cowbees debacle

Not the caseFarah was coming back and in fact was back way before that.spent the whole pre season with the team in different roles...due to COVID it took a while for accreditation to be an on field shirt

Funny ...you don't ever see any other NRL club captain burying his club .......if you are not happy ...you leave ....

Why would you leave something you love , because it’s filled with people you consider incompetent? Wouldn’t you fight to get those people removed , especially if you considered them toxic ?

Also , maybe Robbie was humbled by the whole experience . Just because you think 1 way today , doesn’t mean your locked into that thought for the rest of your life .

Potter did follow , at that time , the second winningest coach in history . A bloke famous for being a tactical genius , sometimes to the detriment of the team . By those standards maybe Potter couldn’t coach ? Or Robbie had it easy his whole career , and needed a huge reality check .
Who knows .

Would you bail on the club happy , that you obviously love , if it had people in charge y thought were harming the joint ?

Yeah ...but I'd have the class to keep it in house ...big difference

Like Gordie had the class to keep a private comment private?
Besides there's never been any proof that Farah was talking to the press about any coach or actively trying to get rid of them.
Just a throwaway line (apparently) to that boofhead Tallis.

We have plenty of passionate people in the coaching staff like Madge and Farah. Unfortunately, we don't have any of that in the playing staff. Maybe Seyfarth, that's about it.

We need a few of them. We need these types of players: Finucane, B Smith, H Grant, Cordner, Murray etc. And guess what, none of them are speedsters but they bring their team forward.

I agree.

Seyfarth and Douihei.

Balmain Juniors.

Need more players that play with pride and passion.

Daniel Sykes, Henry O'Kane and Brandon Tumeth are three of ours that will make their way through the grades in the coming years. they trained with firsts over pre season and the club has high hopes for the three of them, especially Tumeth.

we've actually done a lot of poaching recently through Hartigan, which has seen us identify talent at say 16 or 17. the Saukuru and Fuatimau brothers are Canterbury juniors, Kitione Kautoga from Cronulla, Fonua Pole & Felix Niutili-Schmidt are from Victoria, Tray Lolesio, Tamehana Paruru, Jarney Proctor-Harwood and Israel Ogden were all poached from NZ and Corey Thomas is from QLD. you can tell he was the recruitment manager at the chooks that's for sure. no complaints though, if he gets it right then we'll have a plethora of young talent to choose from in the next 3 years or so.

Good to see us poaching good young talent. We've lost too many of our best juniors to other teams.

Boofhead ! a perfect description.

Benji had far more to do with Sheens getting sacked than Robbie from what i have heard.Removing that cancer Taylor was a blessing though i certainly agree that Potter was harshly treated.
Robbie has many faults but he has WT in his DNA.

He only has the WT's in his DNA when we do it his way .....Robbie had the backing of Balmain Juniors ...Benji wasn't a Balmain boy ...he was an outsider as far as that was concerned ...people forget how much weight BJ carried at the time

It is immaterial if Robbie had the backing of Balmain Juniors or not since it was mainly Benji who shafted Sheens and i am sure you remember the furore when Potter dropped Benji to the bench. The rot set in after that happened.
Dont get me wrong Farah is a divisive figure but he is the person along with Lawrence who needs to be with our club. They are both juniors of our club albeit from different bases and both gave many years service to WT.

Lawrence has a role with the club.

If Luciano Leilua was at peak fitness would we not already have a TPJ? Both big boned and pretty mobile with an offload. I don’t think we could carry both. They don’t look like the back rowers at the top sides who tend to be lighter and more agile.

Good point. If TPJ did come, i think I would probably rotate him and Luciano. Having both in the back row at the same time could leave gaps in defence as they are not great lateral movers. Seyfarth needs to play big minutes at lock. Now if we also had Finucane as the other second rower.........wow we are starting to look like a pack more than capable of taking on any other pack.

With Capewell signing with the donkey's,we might find out soon now.
Hopefully in our favour!

don't think we'll hear anything for the next week or so. TPJ's manager will do the typical wheeling and dealing to see if he can get anything concrete off the Dogs/Chooks etc, and if he does then it'll take even longer with the various bidding wars and so forth. after that, it's whether the Broncos actually want to release him, which from what we've seen changes on an hourly basis.

Yeah it will ...because the minute he doesn't get listened to or get his way he will cause problems or leak crap to the press .....

I've asked a couple of times on here @HappyTiger and haven't been given an answer...and I'll be happy to be corrected...but I cant work out why Our Club hasn't tried to score brownie points by telling us officially via the Wests Tiger web site that Robbie Farah has been for some time a Wests Tigers **ambassador.**

I try very hard to see the good things Our Club has done and is currently achieving, but I can't for the life of me see why the Farah debacle hasn't been settled by putting it out there for all to read.

So...for all who have criticised me by claiming all I want to read is happy stuff, aren't being realistic and I'm off with the fairies, so I should go and read another site instead of WTF, here's your chance to criticise me for being negative this time.

Some references to Robbie in here...

Happy to wait until his suspension is over at a minimum.
