I think @iofthetigers was talking about Angus Crichton

Correct, I haven’t heard anything about TPJ

Thanks for confirmation, might calm a few down here I hope

Comprehension isn't a strong point on here.

I blame the school teachers.

Yeah its got bad since I left the profession.

You driving trucks these days boss?

Funny enough due to covid, I have to do my share of that at the moment.

Lol, I was just guessing.

I'm managing a business and due to skeleton staff have to jump in the truck more than I'd like atm.

MR, HR?

I do drive an MR but business is that down at im just using the dmax with a freezer on the back

Agree, Bellamy has been talking him up, just like a used car salesman does to a car which won't last too long.

TPJ is the one we should be going hard for.

Sarcasm mate he just carried 3 roosters across the try line. Our forwards carry KFC family meals.

haha and here I was thinking it was Oporto - its worse than I though

Paying overs for inconsistent players is not how you turn a club into being successful

you are 100% correct but you will never win a comp with all juniors in a side because they need the guidance and experience for which we lack.. I personally think we are holding onto the bad decisions of the past E.g Reynolds / Packer and we need to more on. We just need to get the 1st high profile one to start the domino effect but they will not come here for peanuts and I cannot blame them.
As a club we have ample money available and need to take a risk because it doesn't roll over to the next year. I am not saying pay TPJ or Funicane 900k but if we offered Funicane 650k for the 3 years he wants I think he would do wonders to these young guys both on and off the field. Call it an investment into all these young players we brought as they are currently looking up to Packer and Mbye.. let that sink in.

Ask Penrith how they are going with their juniors.

Haven't won a comp yet but they will soon.. They also have some experienced players that help lead the team.

Experienced players? Who are they?

Facts 2021: Penrith haven't fielded a player with more than 161 games of experience (Isaah Yeo). Only 4 players of the 25 that have taken the field have more than 100 games experience (Cleary, Koroisau, Yeo, JFH).

By contrast, Tigers have 9/28 players fielded in 2021 with 100 games experience.

I said they had some experienced players that help develop them.
Last year they had James Tamou, Zane Tetevano and Josh Mansour but they have gone now and they still have Api, Capewell and Fisher Harris who is playing outstanding football.
They have an excellent balance in that team and most of there juniors players together growing up. Full credit to them and they are set for years to come.

Correct. They also had Maloney to help bring Cleary through.

Hope the people in charge of recruitment are of the same mind. No good having a bunch of fans check him out if it comes to nothing.

I’m telling you, TPJ might seem like an x-factor, and he no doubt can be, but the suspensions will wear thin real fast.

His presence though, when on field is the real threat... to opposition.

Madge needs to sit him down and work out strategies where he can control his aggression whilst playing his natural game and creating that second phase play we desperately lack.

I think a few of the other forwards could really benefit from a player like TPJ and hopefully they work as a strong unit with guys like Gildart, Luarie and AD following along for those offloads.

TPJ could be huge for us from transforming us from a soft pack to a feared one.

Demps : I'm not disagreeing with you but, quite a few on here are adamant that Madge can't coach.
So if that's the case how is he going to coach TPJ **and** change his aggressive attitude.

Easy.
Let Farah, Sheens and Kimmorley do it.

Farah as coach is one of the most out there suggestions I have ever heard.

Farah is a born leader with so much football intelligence.

Tell me it's a bad idea.

Bro ...didn't you have someone spotting for you today

What are u talking about haha

Weights bro ........head knock ...HIA ...don't think Robbie would make a good head coach

Not a head coach.
But an assistant coach.

If he proves himself at another club 1st

We as a club need a break from Benji and Robbie for a good 5 years ......weed out all the crap 1st and then if they are prepared to tow the line and not leak crap to the media every 5 minutes ...maybe

Robbie is at the club currently.

Yep ...and we still haven't learnt a god damn thing ...dumbest NRL club by a mile ....no other club brings back trouble makers .....losers

Robbie is a trouble maker?
Lol mate, might be time to become happy_rabbit and join your mate @alien

Robbie had Sheens sacked with the backing of Balmain Juniors .....had his conversation with Gordie in regards to Potter ...clashed with Taylor and Pascoe

Players play Demps ....don't get involved in club politics

Doesn't happen at 15 other clubs .....does it ???

Captains captain.

Ain't no one more wests tigers than Roberto Farah.

Taylor deserved to be clashed with.
Maybe Potter couldn't coach.
And Sheens needed a break.

Still, having some one with passion and pride like Farah on board isn't going to hurt.

Funny ...you don't ever see any other NRL club captain burying his club .......if you are not happy ...you leave ....

Why would you leave something you love , because it’s filled with people you consider incompetent? Wouldn’t you fight to get those people removed , especially if you considered them toxic ?

Also , maybe Robbie was humbled by the whole experience . Just because you think 1 way today , doesn’t mean your locked into that thought for the rest of your life .

Potter did follow , at that time , the second winningest coach in history . A bloke famous for being a tactical genius , sometimes to the detriment of the team . By those standards maybe Potter couldn’t coach ? Or Robbie had it easy his whole career , and needed a huge reality check .
Who knows .

Would you bail on the club happy , that you obviously love , if it had people in charge y thought were harming the joint ?

Yeah ...but I'd have the class to keep it in house ...big difference

Yep ,fair point . But do you think that’s maturity as well ?

Robbie ...I wouldn't call it immaturity .....just no one had said NO to him

Yea , that’s a part of maturity and growth though . You can be an arrogant tool, and have a come to Jesus moment that makes you think , I’m a bit of a tool !

I think he trusted Tallis as well , who sold him down the river . That kind of had to be mentioned too . He learnt a big lesson about trust then .

I don't really buy that .....if by that stage he didn't know who to speak to or what to speak about ...like his Mum had passed by that stage and he was a SOO player ....he'd had heaps of dealings with the press ......

Was Tallis press though ? The obvious answer is yes , but if you remember that triple m program with Matty johns , had this “insiders” kind of feel to it . And Robbie was apart of the Sunday team if I remember correctly . He was on the show . Tallis just let it go in a segment . It seemed like breaking kayfabe to me . But hey you might be right , maybe Robbie used him , and backed away from it when it got too hot .

I can still remember Robbie on the Footy Show on the Thursday ...I spoke to him on the Friday in Townsville

It is understood the Tigers were ready to table a two-and-a-half year deal for an immediate transfer, but Pangai Jnr’s asking price, said to be in excess of $700,000 a season, shapes as an impediment.

Also saying dragons could be keen on him

Brent Read saying he thinks we've gone cold on signing tpj.

Can listen here. It's the 6min version towards 4 min mark https://www.triplem.com.au/story/brent-read-s-huge-update-on-gareth-widdop-s-return-to-the-nrl-177466

We all know what will happen and we will miss out on both TPJ and Funicane ***because the decision makers at our rubble of a club cannot agree on something..*** FFS someone needs to take charge and make a decision because our marquee signings will be Joey L and Packer extending their stay the way we are going.. Listening to that it sounds like we are low balling players and hoping they have no choice but to come here.

How do you know that to be true? Who thinks what? What decision needs to be made?

Recruitment has been terrible

That may or may not be true (I think recent singings have been pretty good), but @hsvjones said that the reason these guys arent coming is because "decision makers" cant make up their mind.

I'd like to know who he means and how he knows they cant make up their mind.

He doesn't have any idea at all, he is just extraordinarily reactive to media speculation about recruitment.

If I was to report tomorrow that Tigers were interested in signing Anthony Milford, Jonesy would be asking on Monday how come we haven't closed the deal yet.

Careful what u wish for, Pascoe might get ideas,

“Tigers sign former grand final number six”

1. Will sheens be heavily involved in first grade recruitment. My guess would be yes

2. Is warren McDonnell still working for us.

Warren McDonnell is selling real estate.

Wow.

His son does too.
And so does Moltzen.
It’s part of the pitch to prospective players, you can go to Melbourne and work on developing your league game or come to the tigers and work on developing Real Estate and your sales career! ??

Fuccanne looks like the better deal at a reasonable price say no more than $500 k over 3years with 3rd year option in our favor woild suit me, but need top line centres

I now like this idea. It comes down to contract terms. It was stated earlier he didn't want to come here. Personally I couldn't care less.

I'd rather spend the extra dollars you'd spend on marquee players and target juniors. So if Finucane or TPJ are going to cost 200k-300k above an average contract in that position spend that money on a gun junior.

Fuccanne looks like the better deal at a reasonable price say no more than $500 k over 3years with 3rd year option in our favor woild suit me, but need top line centres

He wants 800k for 4 years

Hes 29 Years old
