Was only a matter of time for us to start getting desperate. The club needs a positive story.

Hopefully Hartigan doesn’t offer too much.

I can tell you, it is very hard to move him from a valuation.

Maybe us Fans can start a Go fund me page to help

The landscape shifted again on Thursday morning after it emerged that the club’s head of football Adam Hartigan had spoken to Pangai Junior’s manager Matt Desira.

Interesting. There were many mentioning on here that TPJ was Hartigans choice of player that why we specifically targeted him in the beginning as we wanted a tackle breaker offloading forward.
The Finucane suggestion was against Hartigans model I guess you could say.
I really wonder what’s happened with in our management in the past week to cause this about face.

I can only guess but I would think there wasn't 100% agreement on the decision last week.

The decision to pull out?

Yes

Do you think it’s all gamesmanship from our part? Ie. we do want you ,but not for the crazy coin you want/ the double dipping is a no go .
This double dipping is not on IMO. He gets his salary from us , and then we negotiate with the broncos on how much of his existing salary/ years they chip in .

I wasn't left with the impression that there was any gamesmanship involved.

Was the original report he did or didn't want to go to bulldogs?

I thought they said he preferred us over dogs but money talks. If we offer 2mil over 3 years you would have to think Broncos would have some sort of contribution to make it a value buy.

Difference on reported offer is 300k, so 100k a year.
Maybe he has come down from his 950k unrealistic expectation

Good to see that TPJ has turned his life around and is now the type of player that we would be interested in.

Pangai makes more sense for the Tigers than the Dogs. Madge can work with him Barrett is a million to one. For what it’s worth people I know at the dogs believe he will take less to play at the Tigers. There’s a select group at the Tigers stirring trouble it’s not the entire team.

The split needs to be addressed and quickly otherwise we can’t start again. The team is turning in each other during games and after them.

I think you're correct but I also think that sort of binary approach is flawed. We could bid and be outbid for the next 20 quality players that come on the market and all it would take is for one of the other clubs to pay overs. I think it's very useful to have a process to value players coming onto the market but you also got to be prepared to stretch your valuation for the right player. I'd stretch for Finucane but probably not for TPJ.

Chammas is a fool and only showing he has an agenda rather than being a real journalist.

Twice in two days he runs the same story - some players didn't like Madge's press conference, Wayne Bennett spoke up generically in support of some players, some players exchanged text messages.

He must have some sort of quota this week to get out a Tigers article daily.

The idea is that by sticking to your valuations you are able to pay overs when the right player come along, so you are right. The player you do pay overs for has to be a player that would fundamentally change your club though, I'm not sure either TPJ or Finucane fall into that category. That is what the club is trying to achieve.

I can’t be the only one that thinks this is all smoke and mirrors right ? Again feel like we’re being used as cover so the dogs will go in to get him this year as well.

In that case I'm happy with Hartigan and the Club's approach.

Chammas pulling a rope-a-dope..

It is possible that the manager is trying to manufacture some competitive tension in his negotiation with another club.
