When the clubs merged the name became "Wests", to honor the "Western Suburbs" side of the joint venture, and "Tigers", to honor the Balmain side.
Our weak administration decided to appease the "Western Suburbs" half, who felt the joint venture was overlooking them, by scaling back the "Tigers" branding. Without any concern (& probably no realisation) for the Balmain half. Without any care for what the joint venture was supposed to have been & should continue to be.

I just think we have made a mistake in regards to branding and identity.
Absolutely. Parramatta was a successful club but wanted to merge with Balmain to get the Tigers branding.
Melbourne look like Brisbane look like Manly. Panthers look like Warriors look like Roosters look like Newcastle. Cowboys look like Parra look like Titans look like Sharks look like Bulldogs.
But we are 2 steps away from having that problem because we have something no other team has got. The orange colour…AND a reason to wear it - the Tiger mascot which captures people's imagination.
When the away team runs out onto our paddock they should be surrounded by a sea of orange cause they're facing the MIGHTY Tigers! Not the corporate zebras.
