Read my comment properly.

Good to see there is at least one loser on here willing to defend Packers pathetic performance.

I would challenge him… His work ethic. And how I apply myself to my job VS his... I already have him beat.

So wake up to your self Russell ya gronk.

I read your post - you called him a cat.

Wake up to yourself - he would iron you out and then some.

Criticise him all you like - name calling is childish little boy.

He is a cat…
Would get shown up by any of the female origin forwards.

Maybe you're the cat too the way you're getting your lingerie in a twist.

I'm not for the tough talk, maybe he'd iron u out too... Maybe I'd iron u out as well. What's the meaning of this boyyy? You flexing?

He is a tough boy and there is no getting around it.

Name calling is not on. Against players or other posters it is very childish Demps.

We'll bring the Lego's for you next time.

Good call

We didn't create pressure… We pushed passes trying to score rather then being patient.
Heavy thread... Needs some of Simon's "flogs" tho

Funny I thought our attack yesterday was the best its been in awhile. We probably bombed atleast 3-4 tries

Just like the socceroos though, finishing play very poor

Thats what Ink is saying. Hold those passes and score 3 or 4 tries on the next tackle. We are panicking, hence all the silly errors.

Packer and Matulino should both be given one simple instruction. Run the ball and tackle hard, not sure what the game plan is but its stupid as hell

I'd expect them to be making atleast 10+ hit ups a game not the 3-4 theyve been making lately

**FFS Regan Campbell Gillard, Klemmer or Woods would make the same amount of runs as them in less than 5-10 mins**

True.

It appears our backs are doing most of their hitups. Maybe thats why nobody could catch up to Farah when he made that long run?

Ah you’re right, my bad

If those passes stick though, we probably win. Just wasn’t our day

None of the opportunities in attack came off the back of our forwards.
The mistakes were a result of the backs knowing that they had to come up with something out of nothing because their forwards weren't going to help them.
Once we got behind on the scoreboard, the pressure to pull off the big play intensified hence the mistakes.
Our forwards are putting our backs under pressure.

I disagree that 'none' of the opportunities were off the back of the forwards.
Our first try was off a great run by Lawrence and good pass to KN. Robbie made 2 clean breaks, one from DH and one from a charge down and we probably should have scored from both - instead they scored.
Second try was some good work from all involved and a big contribution from Farah at DH. IIRC Thompson's no try was off the back of a decent set.

Where you are correct is we started to play panic football and didn't have the maturity to be patient. I'm not saying the forwards were great, but if we're going to analyse a game it's important to look at everything rather than making all the judgements based on a figure on a stat sheet.

Those pressure plays didn't come from the poor performance of the forwards, they came from simple mistakes and poor choices. A couple of tiny things were the difference between us winning and losing yesterday.

Thompson's 'no try' awarded and Kev holds MBye's pass and it's a totally different game.

In all honesty, we were still in the game despite our forwards not making too much of an inroad
Its our errors that lost us the game, mainly by the outside backs today - real unfortunate

This is a more accurate assessment than some of the more emotional posts.

We made some simple errors at critical times which put us under severe duress. A dropped bomb and a couple of dropped passes which ended up in a tries. Those errors contributed to the 40/60% possession and a completion rate of 61%. You can't win games completing 61% of 40%. At the start of the year we were completing over 80%.

For those hammering the forwards, you need to take into account these figures to see they had little opportunity to carry the ball. When they did, they were gassed from their defensive efforts. We made 422 tackles to their 251 - ironically our tackling efficiency was 90%.

We made plenty of opportunities in attack today - we fell at the final hurdle. A few little errors cost us the game - not a huge deficiency in our lineup.

None of the opportunities in attack came off the back of our forwards.

The mistakes were a result of the backs knowing that they had to come up with something out of nothing because their forwards weren't going to help them.

That's how I see it.

Our backs on the whole weren't good but they have to do everything. Our go forward when it was working was based off Fonua, Marsters and Nofo hitting it up. Now that Nofo and Fonua are out our go forward is puss.

I don’t blame the forward pack for yesterday. The problem was the game plan which is Cleary’s responsibility.

Im starting to head that way myself.

The players dont substitute themselves.

The forwards dont decide to favour 2nd and 3rd tackle spreads

I agree it seems packer has faded latley. I have noticed its worse when our error count is up. Our pack was great at the start of the season when our game had very few errors. Atm its the no.1 thing killing us and costing games and needs to be fixed asap. Any forward in the nrl would struggle to make an impact with the possession we had on sunday.

I feel like our backs take far to many hitups recently. Our forwards might get 1-2 hitups a set and the rest are decoys.

That and the demise of players like Packer seemed to coincide with Cleary looking to play a more expansive style of football.

Dare i say the balance is wrong. We need to go back to a simpler type of footy that we played the first few rounds.
