Renshaw deserved 2 Tests to see if he could find some form
And the same goes with the step up from Shield to Test cricket , it is far greater than it ever has been

The other issue I have is Marsh , how many Tests until Humpty Dumpty gets injured again

However, the 21-year-old has a highest score of 19 in six Shield innings in the Australian summer and is replaced by Bancroft, who made 228 not out for Western Australia against South Australia.
Bancroft is also a wicketkeeper, but will not take the gloves in favour of concentrating on his role at the top of the order.
"Cameron has been a player of interest to us for some time now," said Hohns. "He is a very talented and tough cricketer who shows a good temperament for Test cricket."

Watch the outcry if one of the bowlers breaks down. How Marsh got selected is beyond me.
Is Langer still involved in the national team, if so he should be punted. Undermined national players to push a WA agenda.

We don't need an allrounder, we have four bowlers capable of taking 20 wickets (plus Smudge and Warner can rip a few through,) and we are brittle in the batting order. #6 should be a specialist bat, especially since none of our keepers have stood up with the bat. Even Paine isn't all that great with the willow.
Wade would be on suicide watch at the moment, loses his spot to to a guy in his state team who he keeps in front of.
Really disappointed that Renshaw got bumped, but I can understand the logic. Public have long whinged that players performing for state are being overlooked and now the selectors are somewhat listening.

I came from a era when a incumbent test cricketer got at least two tests in the next series before he faced the axe. You can name them all,Boon,Border,Taylor,Chappell,Clarke..they all had a long streak of outs where the selectors kept picking them.
Don’t get me wrong plenty of cricketers have come back bigger and better after being dumped, but I just can’t see the logic of dropping Renshaw and picking Marsh. Of course the other thing we loose a great first gripper

First Test we lose within three days and get done by an innings , we pick the same side from the squad of 13
Meanwhile Renshaw gets a ton in each innings , Maxwell get 6-20 and scores a 150 and Wade actually catches the ball twice in an innings
The Poms have done this in the past and failed , yet we think it will work for us

No of course not. I suppose you could argue Warner has repeatedly delivered at home for us though. It's only his away form that is suspect.
Either way, disappointed for Renshaw, hopefully he takes it on board and bounces back.
Hazlewood will be fine. More worried about Cummins, that kid is fair dinkum held together with tissue and spit.
