The Bali 9

Before I start I will say that Chan & Sukumaran deserved life in Kerabokan. Not for one minute do I think they should have been released. I also believe Schapelle Corby should still be in jail over there. Whether it be marijuana or heroin they are both a class 1 narcotic in Indonesia. Corby is walking free due to her alledged mental state. What a load of crap. Would she have got as much publicity had she looked like Renee Lawrence? Doubt it.

I think had the Bali 9 been caught anywhere else but Indonesia these executions would be a lot more palatable. Boycott Bali will not work as Bali will suffer. You will be hard pressed to find a native Balinese who supports the death penalty.

So true with the media be attractive and we will support you.Look like Renee Lawrence and get jack help. The media today is all style no substance.

There's another article now i just saw, cbf'd copying and pasting it, saying that Sukumaran had the chance to save himself before he was caught, after being tipped off that his arrest along with the other members of the Bali 9 were imminent. Instead of fleeing Indonesia he decided to stay because apparently that's how much compassion he had for others.

I'm sorry, i'm not excusing the Indonesian Government in this, cos they are still living in the dark ages, the form of execution they use is like something out of Game Of Thrones, it's pretty clear they aren't living in 2015\. So yes, i acknowledge that in a way they do have blood on their hands.

But Jesus Christ, how much more shameless glorifying can the Australian media bleed out of this stone? Next, we'll be hearing comparisons between them and Gandhi. The way they are feeding this bs to an Australian public who are baying for blood is sickening. They're lapping up the frenzy that they are creating. Why hasn't anyone come out and said ''hey, it might be harsh, but in those countries, those are the rules, so head the warning''? I guess that doesn't sell newspapers or get ratings. You have to blame everyone one else, therefore no one needs to be accountable for their own actions.

The Irony is you are right about everything you say But its all the SMH reading DT hating bleeding heart left wing types that so many on here are so quick to defend that are to blame for all this.

If it makes you feel better Jerry, I don't read either paper…

GNR is spot on with what he says. These two blokes are far from heroes, but I still don't agree with their execution. The media cycle is nearly spent on this. In two weeks no one will remember them.

And then the media will go on and cause more trouble elsewhere feeding the public only what they want them to believe.

I don't have a problem with them protesting against police brutality & deaths in custody, but the minute they start ripping stores apart and setting cars alight they forfeit their right to sympathy. What's to say they aren't setting the cars of their fellow African Americans alight? How many other minorities were effected by the wanton destruction?

Jerry shut up the case your talking about has been ruled a homocide by the coroners and charges are being pressed against the police.
This is one of many cases in the U.S. Where an unarmed black man has been killed by the police.
Whether or not you believe this is racial, more people have been killed by police this year alone in the U.S. than have been even shot in Japan in 10.
This is high level incompetence, and without riots the media didn't listen.
Wake up and pull your head out of your ass

Wasnt unarmed and was killed while all alone in the back of a van death due to being handcuffed while cop drove eratically.Three of the cops were black so it cant be racial. Also for every person killed by a cop 500 are killed by black gangster wannabe. And I dont hear nothing from you about the 500 but you want to make a world of noise about ONE "accidental prank styled death".And you tell me to take MY head out of my ass.You are the one in need of a quick dose of reality. :crazy P.S

The only reason I am referring solely to black people is cause they are the ones constantly looting and as a black man said hey "Hollywood come to Baltimore cause we got planet Of the apes out there".

Some of the questions being asked of the AFP at this press conference are disgraceful

Of course the man in charge must think every day of the decision he had to make to give information to the Indonesian Govt and the subsequent actions taken by the Indonesians

I think it does, Spartan.

The Indonesian corruption, AFP, the Australian govt- this is all secondary.

Primarily, they were drug dealers who went into a country where they knew their crimes had a death sentence.

I hope Indonesian laws can be changed from here on in but the fact is you can't let them off the hook and provide a precedence like that for future cases- I don't think many governments in the world would.

At the end of the day, from what I can tell, they had no case. I feel sorry for the 10 years they were in prison not knowing whether they'd love the next day or not.

They get advised of the legal consequence (death penalty) right up to they land in the airport. I remember when I flew into Malaysia with Malaysian Airlines the airline P.A. advised of the consequences as the airline prepared to land.
