The best of you

We definately weren't consistent in a strong performance over 80 minutes. Probably why we lost on the weekend. It was never our season.

Hopefully we will learn from this because there are times when dour football is a must. We had to kick with 5 minutes to go.

I think we did the right thing taking them on in the final minutes in Fri night. We had to go out in the second half and play football against a side like the warriors, NOT just go into our shell and kick for corners. It may have proved costly, but it was what we has to do, rather than allow them right back into the game by sitting back and playing conservatively. The possession evened out in the second half, they got a fee more penalties, and in the end we simply couldn't contain their momentum. Gibbs was sorely missed, but if we had kicked to the corner on that last tackle, they are just as dangerous from 80 out from the line as they are 40.

I see your point man but dont agree. I actually thought that an attacking kick may have been the go there and then. Rowdy and Lote were belting up the sideline and a good acurate 20 meter grubber in behind the winger, who was up, would have seen one of them latch onto the ball or at the worst toe it ahead for a possible repeat set. Either way if they started that last set off their goal line chances are the boys may have kept them out of range for a desperate bomb.

All heresay now….I dont dwell on "ifs"...

Let it go boys….

Even though the record says otherwise i think 2012 was a more complete season than 2011\. We beat all the good sides even though we never quite had our full squad up and running.

Benji and Robbie are getting better at controlling games and will be better for the experience of 2012.

Make no mistake this is a better and tougher football team and will again be a force to be reckoned with in 2012.

Everytime Tim Sheens' job is questioned I have asked this question and will ask it again. Who would you replace him with and why would you choose this person??

I have asked that question since 2007 and yet, I have still not been given a decent, solid answer.

Thats rubbish chris.
Many have been suggested, and then they are always compared to their last gig ie: Kearney for example.
"Oooh yeh but look at how he's gone with parra…done a great job there hey?"
The thing is....its how he, or anyone else...will go here at our club with our players....and until they get a crack at it, you'll never get a ''_decent, solid answer''._

^^ This.

I can't name a coach that could top him for our boys - Wayne Bennett included..

Kearney has created his own destiny at Parra. Bought over the hill hacks like Webb, Walker, Whatuira who didnt finish the season and spent 500K plus for a halfback that went mia at souths for 3 days with wes patten. Ummm yeah, I'll pass on Kearny.

Next suggestion?

Rick Stone? he gets the best out of his squad, and should feel realy unlucky the way the cards have fallen for him. I'd be happy for him to be given a shot should Sheens leave. Anthony Griffin is another guy whose name you could throw in the ring. He was appointed head coach of the Broncs less then a month before the season kicked off, basically was given somebody elses side, and now he has them within 1 game of the GF

All this rubbish about who would be fit to replace Sheens is just that, rubbish. As good as Sheens is, he's not irreplaceable

Avoiding the point Chris

You need to look at what he'd bring here….not what he has at his disposal at parra.
BTW....the guys in his first season....yet you make out those dud buys are all his doing, I highly doubt any NRL club gives a rookie coach carte blanche

You seem to think theres no one that can replace Sheens....I'll give you a tip, someone will

All those dud signings were made by Daniel Anderson. Kearney inherited someone elses side. I realy rate Kearney and alwayz hoped that he'd be Sheens replacement. I can respect the fact that people think Sheens is the best man for the job, but to insinuate that he can't be replaced, and to scoff at any suggestions of replacements that are made is stupid

There is a replacment for Tim and that man is Steve Georgallis. He should take over from Tim when Tim's contract is up. Three years to learn from Tim and he should be the man to take over.

Georgallis' name was put forward often…Im sure bug can confirm.
Funny how things change.

Kearny and Flanagan were the two everyone were getting excited over. I do rate Flanagan as a good coach, he's done well with the rabble he's been left with. I don't re-call Georgallis ever being mentioned. I believe he was just a trainer during those times.

Chris, if you ask an impossible question, you get an impossible answer.

Every selection of every coach at every club is a risk.

I dont think its a fair argument to say, "name someone better to replace him….case closed"......it just isnt that simple.

Would be a bold move to get rid of Sheens after consectutive top 4 finishes, but the points being made about sheens not being able to coach a side to be consistant are very valid.

I think it is virtually impossible to coach the team to play consistant without taking away from our strengths… Funny enough, some of the most 'consistant' coached teams get branded boring by many on here 😕

Exactly!!!!

Name me a coach who is available that can coach a side to play consistent then.

Thats the point im making, its impossible to know. Every new coach is a risk and you never know how its going to go.

Personally, i couldnt sack Sheens based on the past 2 years results, so im not calling for his head. But i wouldnt argue with anyone who has the view we need someone new in charge.

The only point im trying to make in regards to the coaching debate is that the "name someone better" argument isnt good enough for me.

There many other arguments to support Sheens and id prefer them, i just cant accept the above argument.
