Back in the day, I was a Season Ticket Holder in Bay 2 in the Latchem Stand. Me & my 3 mates all had tickets. Then, thanks to the birds and the bees 3 of us had kids and eventually they needed tickets to the footy cos their breeding required their attendance or else they'd be weak and unsociable. Back in those days a beer was $2 bucks and to feed the lids was easy. Chips were a dollar so a coupla bucks kept em quite, whilst they slalomed down the hills on beer cartons at LO.
I recall when the NRL began that as season ticket holders we were offered a double header for the 2000 Season Launch at the New Olympic Stadium. I asked the then CEO idiot Stephen Noyce why should I have to pay for a game I wasn't interested in? No hope there. I called the Balmain Leagues Club Boss (Surname started with a C, ex Dogs I think) and he agreed with me that we loyal Tigers Supporters ought not be paying for 2 clubs we hate!
FAST FORWARD to 2026. We are living in a cost of living crisis caused by climate change and gender confusion etc. How on God's Earth do you real life supporters afford to go to the games? Petrol costs to get there, parking fees, beer, food and unidentified-source hot dogs, cost a small fortune. Please advise what is your average cost per game? I will compile the results and tell PVL that he is kidding.
