THE CURSE CONTINUES?

Seems that our injury curse continues, bad luck for Dene. I just hope that is the last major one, we are in need of a change in luck. Maybe the club could bring in a witch doctor to solve the problem.
Not related but how we are down 2 back up forwards with gordon been sacked, hope been pure and lilly white does not come back to bit us on the arse.

Did we sell our soul to win the 2005 grand final???

No, but that was 9 years ago and since then we have not been able to get to many decent players to this club, even with that stance. I dont for one min condone what he may have done, but could they not have fined him a huge amount and given had some support rather then turf him, seems to me all ciubs preach how they look after players but its seems only for the really good ones they NEED to keep, big double standard.

Looks like everyone bar Moltz and Halatau will be fully fit bar Round 1

Honestly , you can't complain about that

Some clubs are already in far worse state than us

I believe this curse is a fairly complex hex that would have been cast at the start of 2012\. Would make sense as we were tipped to win the comp and it appears the curse was cast during this time by a rival team supporter, possibly the Dragons.
A lvl 46 Mage or Priest should be able to reverse it. Dunno if WT have the gold available however.

Also, rd1 its looking like Galloway, Moltzen, Halutau and Simona won't be available.
Hopefully Fulton, Robbie, Brooks and Sue will all be ready.

We shouldn't be playing matches on a part-timers pitch like Kirkam Oval.

I wasn't at camden, but I dare say the playing surface would've been rock hard from being baked under this summers heat. Im pretty sure there'd be plenty of divots and crap on the surface from camden's local cricket season as well. I wouldn't be suprised if there were a few knocks and strains going around from the Panthers match that we are not being told about.

I shudder to think of the current condition of Concord Oval as well. WT need to own the ground they train on and have their own specialst team to look after the quality of the training pitches to prevent injuries. We're paying too much on player contracts to not consider this as an option.

Apparently a lot of money was spent on the ground in the lead up to the trial being played. I wouldn't shoot the field down without having first seen and had a good look at it first. The players also trained on it prior to the trial so I'm sure if there were concerns they would have been raised.

Field looked great… Completely fine pitch to play on... Was a very unlucky injury, that we see all too often... Body going a different way to the ankle...and the oppositions weight on his leg.

Don't think the quality of the field had much to do with this one!

You never know.

My point is that if I was coach \ Football Operations manager of WT I wouldn't take my chances running my players out on a local suburban pitch. You'd also want your fans \ players to know that your not going to expect them to be happy with a 2nd rate setup.

…Its why Souths are doing so bloomin well these days. Rusty threw tons of money at the club before he bought them, and it didn't change anything. It was only until he hooked them up with a modern training setup that they really got their act together.

Some food for thought.

There is more to getting a pitch ready than a couple of lads from Camden Council putting out some sprinklers and walking around with a bucket of sand. If It was still 1997 it would be a different story. Its 2014 now and we need to connect the dots between all these injuries and the facillites at the club.

I was at the game and this injury had nothing to do with the condition of the ground, which was great by the way much better than I have seen Leichhardt, Campbelltown and ANZ at times. This was an unlucky injury.

Maybe we should play on foam rubber underlay like they have in day care centers these days….lets cover the boys in bubble wrap while we're at it.

Fair dink theres some whinging & moaning going on here lately....and to think its mainly males that make up the membership here, you'd think it was a room full of females at that time of the month.

The injury was directly related to the way the tackler fell over him. Unfortunate but nothing to do with the field

The field looked in good nick from the video footage and they have spent a bit of money upgrading the ground apparently.

A wise and sharp retort relating to the periodic discharge of blood and mucosal tissue. And how tough and superior men like you are for not having them.

Nice.

But meanwhile… Manly are training at a world class Sports Science Academy, we are still doing the proverbial lap up and around Chilli's hill. You watch... It will be our 3rd season wrecked by injury but there will always be a couple of reg regans around here thinking its just bad luck... run it off and put it in a bucket of hot sand.

Mate have you seen the fields at the Narrabeen complex?

They are atrocious. Sand based, rutted and all kinds of hopeless
