Meaning what?

Meaning the pre-lim final was awesome I agree .
But to say the atmosphere at the GF was …as you quoted (rubbish) .... It was far from rubbish IMO .

Idk about you and where you were sitting (if you were even there), but from where i was sitting the atmosphere was rubbish, and i'll always stand by that. Thats what happens when over half the crowd are impartial supporters without an allegiance.

I was there mate had a fantastic night with tigers and cowboys supporters alike .. Great atmosphere !
Maybe you were with boring company ??
No dramas … **Each to their own I guess** ?

I was with my grandmother actually who has since passed, so i take exception to that condescending tone. You say each to their own, so why you being so judgemental about it?

winning.

that trophy can never be taken away from the tigers.

1952 and 1969 were the last premierships for the respective sides. in ones lifetime, how many times does it happen.

Cronulla 1967- are still waiting.

we have that memory.

Best day of my life , got to the Stadium with 4 mates of mine at midday watched all the grades and soking up all the atmosphere .
Was a stinking hot day and 16 Schooners later by the time presentation came i was an Emotional wreck , I'm going to admit it but when Josh Hannay missed the goal , then and there the realization that we were to become Premiers , my head literally fell to my knees and cried like a baby (no joke) for minutes , everything took over and couldn't control it (blame it on the beer ) . My Mum and Dad sat on the opposite side of the Stadium with my Aunty and Uncle and when the Fulltime siren went off , i was running to the otherside to get to them like a Lunatic  . I couldn't stop thinking of all the games Dad and i went to growing up following Balmain and the fond memories we shared at Leichardt , the joy i had for a while after this was unbelievable i was on a high for ages.
The Heartbreak of loosing the way we did in 89 to the Raiders was softened only a little bit.
I'm only trying to let people understand what went through my head that day (in regards with Balmain) so relax people we are Wests Tigers now and have always stated that in numerous threads

No judgement intended…....just stating that everyone has their own memories........and ours were great!!! Just a shame you weren't able to enjoy the atmosphere of a fantastic match......in other words like I said "each to their own".

Dont recall much of the game live at all….all a blur, way too nervous.

Remember stressing out before leaving home for some reason, remember bumping into old forum member zerotolerance in the car park at the stadium. We sat with another old member suzie Q and her daughter.
Remember it being a very hot day...we were sitting right in front of where Richards scored...its all still a blur, I need to watch the game again havent seen it in years.

Remember the traffic on parra rd after, it was like NYE....we headed to ashfield and soaked up the atmosphere, then head to Rozelle - theyd closed Vic Rd by this stage, bumped into an old workmate there....by this time its like 1.30am and still so hyped....got home and watched the replay twice...tried to sleep about 5am.....no go....then off to LO I think the next day for the fan day where Hodgo was absolutley smashed LOL....saw ray cashmere leave LO walking by himself up mary st to the bus stop....

I thought I was the only freak that went home (eventually) and watched the replay. Didn't make it all the way through though…

Why do even the most benign threads always have to end up turning into a sh-t fight on here? :unamused:

Yeah we do. If you were truly taking the gentlemans approach saying ''each to their own'', you would have said anything in the first place, and making insults.

Yeah we do. The atmosphere was trash. You got a problem with that?[/

No, no problem, just starting to feel a tad sorry for someone so hung up on their trash night from 2005!! I'm hoping that this was your only trash experience and all your other experiences have been great!

Sounds a lot like my experience. Got maybe 2 hours sleep before we went to LO to see the team bring in the trophy. Mate taped the game, we must have watched the replay at least 3 times before the end of the following day.

Hannay missing that goal was the clinch moment, as others said, knew we couldn't lose from there.

Payten scoring was just icing on the cake… Princey almost put Hodgo away late too but the pass was knocked forward.

Other moments Gibbs scoring first try, big mitt on that stupid Cowboys pass. Matt Cecchin as touch judge calling up the Cowboys no-try for obstruction on Halatau (life pass for that one). Of course the Richards try, he was running right towards us and you could see Rocket Jensen looming, best ever fend to put him down and score. Jensen was looming for his Sattler moment and couldn't manage it.

Spend it with friends. We put the spit roast on, sat outside under the stars with couple of glasses of wine, chatting, laughing, relaxing. It was such a lovely night we decided to bring the large plasma telly outside and watch the game under the stars. Magical night
