I was so happy when I seen ryan at fullback then it all turned to s*** when i seen moltzen at 5/8, how he keeps getting picked week in week out realy bugs me.

Well he is our leading try scorer

And thats important isn't it

**Forget all the lead up work to the try , its just who scores thats important**

As opposed to him always getting bagged for not backing players up?
Usually wingers are the top try scorers - and they score 80% of their tries just catching the last pass.
No-one begrudges them being the leading try scorers.
Moltzen plays in the centre of the field in attack - why not at least give him some kudos for getting himself in the right position to score , happy.

I think people feel the need to stick up for Moltz more (well i do anyway) cause he cops ridiculous amounts of vitrol on here (not from you) that is aimed at him personally.
Even last week people having a go of him after he dislocated his finger , with jibes about a broken finger nail, which of course is very painful. completely unnecessary.
They call him soft, and Benji's hand bag he can score 3 tries and get the official man of the match and get bagged.

He is not IMO treated fairly. Ive produced evidence with a correlation between him playing fullback and winning over a 46 game period, people hogwash it cause it doesn't fit there preconceived ideas.

Another bloke brings up he is our leading scorer, has made a number of line breaks and tackle busts, people dismiss it.
You even blamed Koro dropping a ball with an open try line on Moltz, the ball was in front of his face, and should be taken, I gurantee if players were reversed it would have been Moltz copping it for bombing a try.

I reckon he has been in good form since about rnd 9 after a slow start and people focus on his negatives.

Most of the blokes on the forum could of scored the 3 tries that Moltzen scored v the Dragons

The only try I can think that Moltzen set up and scored was the one he scored playing AT 6

Up there with the most ignorant and slanted posts I've seen even as far as posts about Moltzen.
That just proves some people are ridiculously biased against him no matter what he does.

…and most other players could have scored all the tries Terry Lamb scored backing up - but they didn't because he was the one in position to take the ball and score the try.
I don't think too many on this forum would have even got near the flick pass off Marshall and still stepped Iinside a defender to score - plus he's scored more than one try dummying his way through and putting on a spurt of speed.
He may not be your cup of tea at fullback , happy , but give him some credit.

Great

Now you are comparing Lamb as a footballer to Moltzen

Who next Lewis ,Meninga ,Lockyer, Slater,Bob Fulton ….....

I'm sure someone should be able to twist some stats to make him into an Immortal next

to be frank about this what makes most supports angry about moltzen is that he plays bad and does not get dropped other players dont get a chance because he is BENJIS lap dog.
If he at least had a go and hit the line and looked 1/2 interested maybe people would give him some slack. But we are in round 25 and he is still playing like abusted a####.

Happy , not comparing him to Lamb as a player - just making the point Lamb was praised for always being in the right place to score and Moltzen is what… just lucky to be standing there?
PS .Terry Lamb was my ballboy when I played for Chester Hill United - wish I had kicked him then so he never made it to the '88 grand final.

Well what annoys me the most is that he plays put of position and gets bagged for everything he does wrong but when he does something right people say, oh any old footballer could do that.

As opposed to which other regular first graders that got dropped?

I doubt they would've got through pre-season training… The days of registering each year before the Easter Weekend don't happen anymore?!

Watto he ran a maximum of 12 metres to score the 3 tries They could of done 2 Marika stumbles to score two of them running into holes as big as Sydney Heads and I reckon at age 43 after 2 ruptured achilles and recent ACL stuff and heaps of pudding I could still scored the third one with a well timed step

Mightn't have been able to run it under the post though :roll

load of rubbish!

First try he ran a second man play off benji and ran between and over a player and the try was mostly his work

The second he scored off a grubber, excellent chase.

The third the benji flick, watch particuarly the last replay on this and take note of Tim fade inside the man coming across before the ball is thrown, he amplifies this move with a slight step after receiving the ball.

You refuse to give credit at all, he was good, got man of the match, scored 3 tries and still copped a bagging.

agree somewhat with you. many people are refusing to give him ANY credit and are instead bagging him which is ridiculous.

Yeah because his fantastic passing game & kicking game will be so handy….....

He threw a pretty good ball to Beau to set up Koro's 2nd and put in a good grubber which lead to a drop out to against the doggies

He threw a fantastic pass in one of the trials this year. He got the ball on the right of the field. Stepped off his right back to the left. Threw a long off-balance cut-out pass to the right to put Ayshford over.

Has a great show 'n go too.

The more he played in the halves the more dangerous he looked.

Hope his ball playing isn't too rusty - if he really does play in the halves this week.

He hasn't looked at his best cause those around him haven't been at their best.

OK so Sunday is his day.

His in his "proper position"
His contract/future has been sorted out
He had a haircut.
His hamstring is good.
His in the position he trained all off season.

He has a bandaid on his finger.
The sun is shinning.
No excuses.
All systems go after 24 round this is it…Show time.

Don't think he will be man of the match this week..Anymore stats for us ?

He was awful today. In fairness though as soon as we fell behind the game plan became "pass to Benji and pray" so Moltzen didn't have much to do except receive the occasional offload and run sideways.
