The Luai dilemma...

I heard from my cousins sisters boyfriend that luai is being dropped to nsw cup with douhei and we will be playing madden and Andrews this week, just to show the broncos who's boss
I'm actually looking forward to seeing Andrews in the halves in NRL. Our relative inability to score from 10-20m out, will hopefully be a thing of the past.
Of course, the rest of his game will need to be up to standard.
But his craftiness and ability to ghost through defence, and those sweet feather touch grubbers will have us excited.

He seems to be very promising although some think his defense needs to stiffen. When all the facets of his game are ready, where does he fit in the current NRL roster?

I hear you, stevie . . . . but when we have multiple sets in front of the line, and are simply not breaking through, I'd love to know what he would do for us if he was there.
We have recruited depth plus in the halves, but none have his spark of creativity.

This what I hear and apparently it was apparent on Sunday. (I didn't watch it.) I agree, a bit of subtle playmaking could be a real boon to the often clunky Tiger attack in the red zone.

I like that you're keeping Jock there but many fans would be up in arms if Douehi is put on the bench. Also, he's way to damaging and valuable to the team as a talker and leader to be left out. What's with this hamstring/ needing rest issue? He certainly doesn't look like he's carrying an injury. I agree, Latu is a great sub to have, and will do a job for us.
I thought it was a groin issue that has been restricting Doueihi's kicking in recent weeks.

I know it's crazy, but I'm hoping Jock starts and Luai comes off the bench.

I love Luai as a player and person, but if I'm honest he hasn't produced the performances Jock has in his limited time. It might very well be because everyone around them is playing well, but just not worth breaking up what is working right now - at least to begin with.

That’s a bit harsh Moh. Luai and Madden don’t play the same position. Don’t let the number on the back fool you. The real issue is will Luai perform as good as AD did while he was out, because AD benefited off Madden playing direct. The ball is now in AD’s court, the responsibility lies with him to provide the same room he was provided and if he can do that expect Luai to cut loose.

Not the same positions, and there is a few things at play. Overall, the team has looked much better, straighter and have had a lot better shape and tempo in the game.

If Luai slots in and all of that is the same, no worries. I am just slightly worried we'll go back to a lot of ducking and weaving into dead-ends.

I don't doubt Luai and his ability, and I'm not saying he hasn't had good games for us. Just that we're looking very different right now, whether or not it'll be the same with him starting I have no idea - just think it's worth bringing him back slowly off the bench if he is happy with it and if it means we have a good start.
