The Middle !

On Friday WTs conceded 5 of 6 tries up the middle ….....

Matt Groat = 7 missed tackles
Chris Heighnington= 4 missed tackles

To be fair to the team , it seemed that the dragons were wise to fact that we are week up the middle , and really did targe us there ......
It's going to happen every week now

Solution ,

1.Groat to the bench .
as a starter he is struggling with the level of work required of him. I think he will be more effective from the bench . For me that makes Matt bell the starter , he has Been good this year ( until Galloway is back ). Also makes a great case for the recruitment of Willie Mason

3\. Lock =Gareth Ellis to lock ,Heighnington to the bench , Fults to start

For all the great heighny has done for this team and u want to humiliate him in state cup because of one awful game v dragons! Where is the loyalty? He was ok first two games!
Both to the bench not dropped!

Our defense is better only to Parras, averaging more than 24 points pg.
Not good enough
Were not dominating, were not big enough..

we need to man up in defence! 58 points in the last two weeks is way too many! personally i think it should be our biggest focus for the rest of the year. people complain about moltzen but he isnt losing us games! its not our attack that is the problem! we arent losing games 10-6! we are losing because the other teams work harder up the middle! Benji and moltzen will begin to shine when the big boys begin to dominate their tackles!

Yep this and our kicking game If we don't find a kicking game shortly we will continue to battle

As much as we want to it is hard to win games from our own half in attack we won't win very many against the top sides

Defence and long kicking to open spaces, will go a long way to a win. Tigers attack will awake from it's coma when this happens!

We also need to have much better ball security - dropped balls nearly cost us the Sharks game, led to two crucial tries for Manly, and continued to put our defence under pressure v the Dragons.

How dare you suggest that we've been losing games due to a weak and inexperienced forward pack. Didnt you get the memo that it is exclusively TIM MOLTZENS fault that we are losing games?

Excepting Farah and Fulton, we are big enough. Just not using our size. Groat needs to come off the bench and pair up with an experienced partner. Bell needs to start, didn't play enough minutes last week for my liking.

groat was very poor..
not his fault, he is not up to it yet..
he has potential, but he's not there yet..

should have started with BMM..

Sheesh Troyzab, did Heigno do a runner when it was his shout? NSW Cup!!!

I love how it's a general complaint that Sheens doesn't drop players for underperforming yet when it's suggested someone get dropped IT'S ABSURD HOW DARE YOU?!

Heighington has been poor this year and really wasn't much chop last year either. He never dints the line and he often gets beaten in inopportune situations in defense. His only skill is his late footwork which sometimes has him beat the first man and get us a few more metres, other than that he has nothing.

This description of Heighno could pretty much be cut and pasted to describe Fulton. Strangely though in these discussions many on here suggest that Fulton should replace Heighno in the starting side.

Both guys are hard workers, but surely in terms of having an impact either in attack or defense replacing one of these guys with the other is not the solution!?

I agree Balmianjnr , thats why I have proposed a I slight reshuffle ,

= Ellis to Lock , which Wouk be a major improvement I'm an area which we are weak .
It would balance out the side ( access the field ) much better .

Ellis will make the impact up the middle that neither fults or heighno can ( especially defense )
That leaves the edge spot vacant , Fulton is a much more effective edge player then heighno and fults can play 80mins no problems , so fults starts for me .

Partly agree, Fulton runs better lines and harder than heighno… Not disputing Heighno's hard work, just wish he would stop trying to dance around the defense !!

wests tigers no structure no defence hot potatoe with ball in hand hope like the blazes it sticks soft as awet sao up the middle 4 grannys could run through us .same gameplan as 05\. whats missing someone to roll up there sleeves and have a dig . . a game plan that at least in part revolves around defence. other wise you may as well have alan jones back as coach let the ball do the work the rest takes care of itself. hhhaaa i dont think so.

Big damo why do you come here? Granted you have a right to voice your opinion, but I suspect it is because no one listens to you at home
