WESTS TIGERS FINALLY CRACK SPINE MYSTERY

It's taken him a while, but Michael Maguire has finally found his best spine and the Tigers are suddenly a chance for the finals.

After a slow start to the season, the Tigers have won three of their last five games and looked good in disposing of the Dragons 34-18 on Friday night.

With Daine Laurie at fullback, Moses Mbye and Luke Brooks in the halves and Jacob Liddle at hooker, Maguire has a spine with plenty of speed and creativity.

The Tigers have some work to do in coming weeks - but with these four fit and firing - have the ammunition to make a genuine finals challenge.

Hahaha righto. Need to win 8 of the last 12 probably to make it? Maybe 11 wins will do, but then F/A becomes an issue and we are currently the 6th-worst defensive side.

consistent footy. that's all you can hope for as a tigers fan. everything else off the back of that is a bonus. going 2 in a row this week would be immense.

hard to get hopes up really after years of being burnt, but stuff i liked from the dragons game:

- we finally changed our defensive structure, no more jamming into the middle and soft edges
- a little more confidence in attack, off the back of some great work by the forward pack
- daine laurie being used a little more effectively in attack
- decent line speed and pressure keeping opponent in their end
- good discipline all round, no sin bins and not many penalties

Some things i didnt like though:

- still a 15-20 minute fade out period where we leaked two soft tries
- some really basic errors. we were just lucky dragons weren't able to capitalise on them

hopefully the boys start building some belief, if they can go back 2 back this week sure its got an asterisk but will help them build. eels and rabbits are totally winnable games imo. melbourne will be tough obviously but we could at least give it a crack.

anythings possible, but i'll reserve any optimism for when they win 3 in a row, until that happens i cant be sure anything is changing for the better

I want back-to-back-to-back selections of Joffa for Queensland and then finals... this year knocking Ivan’s intolerable chocolate-fudge soldiers out
