The Most Significant Week in Weststigers History

I would suggest that at the conclusion of this week, we will have seen the most significant week in our 24 year history - even surpassing 2005. The sacking of the Board, the resignation of Pascoe, and the firing of the Chairman provided the opportunity for fundamental and 'cosmic' change at the club.
The significance of Richo's signing cannot be overstated. His track record would suggest he is amongst the best administrators in the game, if not the best. That alone would put this week into contention for the greatest week for this club. But the bonus of the likely signing of J.L. from the Panthers is the clincher in my opinion. 2005 may have been the most enjoyable, but it didn't 'set us up' for the future - clearly. But this week - well, we now have the greatest opportunity to provide the infrastructure on and off the field to propel the Weststigers into a position of sustained prominence within the NRL.

We can say this if they win another premiership in the next 10 years …preferably two more …but I’ll settle for one

This quantum change is what I wanted because I felt that WT with its rancid reputation was making Concord an undesirable destination for players and coaches and top administrators and that numerous changes that were really just tinkering around the edges would not fix this reputation problem but what would work is massive upheaval saying to the NRL world
- It is a NEW BEGINNING FINALLY .
This might have everyone clearing the slate and give us a real shot at putting a finals bound team on the park

The longer this Jerome Luai saga goes on, the higher the probability that he will not join the WESTS Tigers.

And BTW, 2005 set us up for two wonderful opportunities in 2010 and 2011. Both years we were a 'shandy' away from the GF. We were robbed twice by big-time dud refereeing decisions in 2010 (semi V Roosters and again in the semi V the Dragons). In 2011 Farah cost us the semi v Auckland by running the ball on the 5th tackle, before passing late to Benji who had little time for a proper clearing kick.

Two good quality posts straight from the bat TK from Lidcombe: 👍
Happy New Year to a new member of WTF.

We won the comp and then 5 and 6 years later made the semis...2005 set us up for nothing tbh. If we made the semis for a few years after, then yeah, set us up. But we failed from 2006-9 (ie bottom half).
We won the jackpot in 05 with a young team but still couldn't cash in.

Not getting a real halfback to the club to replace Prince hurt us very badly and all because the coach was too stubborn to admit he was wrong
