It is hard to blame everyone...

**The bottom line is that you need a VERY high IQ 7.**

Cronk...Joey...even guys like Townsend and co...Seizer...the Raiders pom also...so, great 7s down to ordinary, they all sound like they know the game of footy when interviewed.

Brooks...and it pains me to say it as he is a local...but you can tell when he talks. He has absolutely no idea how to manage a game or carry out a game plan. His sixth tackle options are the worst I have ever seen from a 100 plus game vet 7. I honestly doubt he even understands the game like a 7 needs to. All his good moments are broken field stuff that requires no thought.

Nothing will change until Brooksy goes....

Agree, he just slightly puts words together better then nofo.......

Yes, I don't want to knock the kid as he is a Balmain junior and I like him. But he does not get it. You can have a "low IQ" prop or a backrower who can't string a sentence together...but you can't have a 7 with those traits. You just can't...

Maybe James Graham can tutor him.
For the amount of knocks he copped and yet he's still so coherent and lucid in his interviews...
The dude might have changed the world if he wasn't a footy player.

I don't have any positives to say about this club. There doesn't seem to be ANY intelligent minds anywhere. Nothing is learned. Nothing is gained. Honestly, I'm just as stupid for investing my money on a membership.

Scary to think we were this weak against a Roosters team missing players such as Crichton, Friend, Verrils, Cordner and Radley.

Yeh but without those players (if they weren't signed with them) they would still be over the cap! That team we played today will beat almost every team in the comp bar maybe storm and Panthers. Let's be real the roosters get double to cap space we do and thats the reason they can have half there team out and still beat most teams.

True. But we would have been lucky to compete with any team today on our performance.

I am going to call out a few things that may not be popular.

I expected Tamou to be a leader at the club. When we conceded the early try I did not see him pulling the guys together. He was about a metre in front of other players looking at the kicker. I have not idea what is going on there, but that looked like a fractured football team.

On the back of that the number of lazy players that will not chase or support their team mates is unbelievable.

We have a few player that lack any form of resilience. Good teams or confident team will fire up when there are mistakes or the fall behind. 1st try heads dropped and a bunch of out players switched off.

Twal tries hard, but is as slow as a wet week. He is Eisenhuth MKII.

A lot a of players gave up today and in no way did we play as a team

Bruh those are worrying signs. That has the makings of a wooden spoon team, when really there is no reason for the team to be like this. We just came back from pre-season. I would get it if we had just lost 6 or 7 in a row, but seriously it's round 2....how can the players be in this state.

Brooks just doesn't have the footy brain to lead a team around, it's that simple. Even at his best, his best attributes were his running, short passing and short kicking. Much more a 5/8's skill set instead of a halfback who leads a team around

Gotta agree, take the pressure off now. Let him be a running 5/8 if we want to salvage the season

Playing 5/8 would seem his only last chance.

The video review will be embarrassing.

Will that matter ..not as if we have a player tree in the garden we can just pick superstars off and slot in

Huth never gave up ...put his balls on the line every week ....and we let him go

Huth was very good at the end of last season when Twal was injured.

Actually Huth and ET really stood up and didn't let us down at the end of last season when we really needed them.

Would have had no major complaints if one of either Huth or ET were given an extra year as a depth signing.

This is probably an unpopular opinion but I completely agree.

He is a plodder and a stat padder. His stats are always good but he has no impact.

Average player at best.

Is he ? I remember the last match of 2018 against Manly, Twal fended off a tackle and ran 40 metres up field, stepped inside Turbo Tom and passed to Mbye to score under the post. He showed a bit of toe that day.

And then there was the round 1 match against the Raiders. He chased CNK and went toe to toe with him down the sideline - got a hand on him as he went over. That, after playing long minutes in the middle. That was an effort play that exhibited pace and commitment. If the rest of the team put in to the same extent, our for and against would look a lot healthier.

I guess if the stats don't support your argument then you disparage the stats. Against Easts he was the only forward to run over 100 metres (according to Fox Sports) and he made the equal highest number of tackles.

If he is a "plodder" then I reckon our team could use a few more like him.

You can find stats to support any argument if you look hard enough. Apart from the highlight against Manly, what to his career stats look like for tackle busts, linebreaks and linebreak or try assists.

He is a solid player and every club needs one. Makes metres, high tackle efficiency, but I would not describe him as damaging or dynamic.

Nor would I. I was replying to your comment that he is "as slow as a wet week". He is not.

He puts in every week. He is not the problem. As you say, every club needs one.

Perhaps, but I was not "torturing" the stats to agree with me, or looking for obscure stats to back me up. I was simply quoting the standard stats for props that everyone looks at - run metres and tackles. I don't imagine that his career stats for linebreaks and try assists are very high, but then that is not his role - he is a workhorse prop who has to play lock because we have no-one else.
