Let's see if this can get as spicey as the MJ topic.

What is everyone's thoughts on Cody Walker and his stance towards the national anthem during Origin?

@cochise controversial topic... speak your mind though.
very interested to hear everyone's thoughts.

All about perspectives. They are within their rights to do it, Im within mine to hate them for doing it and the world keeps revolving.
Id imagine Mundine will love it, sitting down to watch it with a tub of vasso on his armrest.

@Kev You didn't see his press released?
He urged all the non-indigenous players to join in as well.

@Demps I respect them for taking a stand on an issue they obviously feel very strongly about!

It isn’t illegal, and if they’re not personally comfortable partaking in it for whatever reason then I don’t care. No need to advertise it and turn it into a “movement” though.

They didn't advertise it, they were asked if they would be singing the anthem and answered the question!

To me, it feels like a very "Americanized" thing to do.
Colin Kaepernick, take the knee, etc.

I think it'd make a bigger statement if they did something like that then simply, just not sing along.
Most games I see players not singing along.

Indigenous people are not African Americans no matter how much they feel they can relate.
They have their own story & struggles and should find their own identity within that instead of in my opinion, often appears to mimic that of the brothers in the US.

No problems from me, but their priorities are completely out of whack. ScoMo should come out and say we'll change the anthem and Australia Day as soon as we can fix the more important issues with domestic violence, health and education in the indigenous communities.

Haven’t followed the story closely, but apologies if it only arose from an answer to a question. Obviously not an issue then. Why were they asked this question though? What kind of question is that, if asked with no context?

@Demps you're a real one. I swear the token gestures + welcome to country/acknowledgments are overdone. Why does everyone look 1/8 black too, they're all light skin. I'm all about real change. These boys think they're cool.
